  1. I got one from ERC a few weeks ago and love it - and so do my sexy shrimp!
  2. So if we are still on the "A's" and it is 1:30, this may go past dinnertime if there are as many corals as previously!
  3. Who was it that got every almost every single item last time?? It gets so frustrating! I am looking for a freebie though. Surely there is something coming soon...
  4. So, since the only wrasse I am looking for is a possum wrasse I'm thinking I may be out of luck.
  5. Awesome prices! Blastos? Cynarina? Duncan?
  6. Well, if you are still looking, check out SC Aquariums. They sell full systems and are supposed to be very nice tanks. That is who I was going to go with before I ended up buying used. Editing to add...and they are very reasonable.
  7. I got this vision of it being like the carnival goldfish that no one can resist!
  8. Welcome - you will find it is a very friendlyand active club!
  9. I seem to remember when I was researching tanks that their customer service stinks. Search and see though because I could be wrong. SCA and Deep Sea Aquatics are supposed to be good - as is Miracles.
  10. And there is always someone way faster at typing when it comes to something you want! It is definitely fun, but you learn quickly that you can't come into this determined to win one particular thing. There are usually some things that don't sell and you can browse through later. The beginning is most fun, but the "room" is crowded! Can you tell how my luck usually runs? In all honestly, I end up frustrated at first and then pick up several nice pieces anyway.
  11. The thing is, when your stuff breaks there is always some newfangled idea brewing of how you can make it better next time! Sorry you have two new projects...
  12. Funny, my reefcleaners nerites were out of the tank and I have none of those left - only the others. Maybe I will try again. I should ask Jenn how hers faired. I think I remember giving her some extras they sent me.
  13. Oops! Not sure how I posted under the wrong category. I meant for this to go in general discussion.
  14. Last year I ordered nerites that were specifically advertised as "collected in deeper water and NOT in tidal zones" and they are the only nerites I have that actually stay put in the tank. I can't for the life of me remember where I bought them though and would like to order more. Anyone have any ideas? Or I would be happy if I found any locally with coralline on the shell (not because I need coralline, but that would indicate they hopefully spend a majority of the time submerged).
  15. Rather than edit my original post I thought it better to post separately. My negative experience was with reefcleaners, not reefs2go. Sorry!
  16. And, though I understand why you would lean towards the all in one, a sump isn't complicated. It is simply gravity draining from your display, landing in the sump, and pumped back up to the display. You don't have to put anything in it but a return pump if you don't want to. I used to be terrified of flooding risks, and it is actually simple to avoid. You really don't have to be handy. Though I have had a sump, I haven't ever planned and set one up from scratch. So I got an undrilled 75 gallon and am anxious to get started. Yikes! And, not that it should matter one iota...I am a girl.
  17. I don't think it will be a problem, but you will likely have to prune the xenia occasionally, depending on the strain. I have one that has stayed put and not spread at all, and another that has really spread alot! If you have a CUC, the snail would likely have been eaten if it were dead. Also, I don't know that they stay closed tight when they die - I think they hang out a bit. I love to order from kpaquatics. Honestly, I haven't had any bad experiences (except I reefs2go and that was because my macroalgae was completely covered with hydroids!) I regularly order corals from woo's aquatics on ebay and like them alot. Exotic Reef Creations is local and I'm sure will deliver (free?) to DC or at least a metro stop, but for now you would have to touch base and see what they can get you. Highly recommend them!
