That is the plan but catching them is the problem. With all the corals and 25 fish it will be difficult.

Humidity is really only a problem in the basement and run a dehumidifier when needed. The upstairs tank is my office but next to a two story open foyer/living room and never had any issues. With the LEDS I will remove a 400w MH and will hopefully keep the basement in check.

Thanks. It was a challenge to remove the nem. Feel bad for my clowns as they are still in he tank. They are trying to host in my clam currently :-)

That is my 70 cube. That is my next project as it is not aquascaped. This will be my led test tank as I purchased 2 D120's. Should have the lights next week and going to rearrange rock work and flow as I am also installing a sea swirl.

Doing well and they stay in a group. They mostly stay on one side of the tank but near the front pane. The total I put in the tank was 13. Actually ordered a couple more but were DOA (got credit). I found one on the floor and the two have just vanished. So the group is holding steady at 10.

Yes on the rebound! Thanks Thanks, if you are ever up this way again please stop over Not the most attractive sump you will ever see but here it is. Just added the UV. Also run a media reactor which is not pictured.

Couple update pics. My nem decided to walk and I had to tear down half of the corals and rock work to remove him. He has been relocated to my 70g downstairs. Kinda feels like I am starting over with the amount of disruption but all is well. Corals are all coloring up more and more every day and a lot of new growth. Right side of tank Left side of tank Clean cabinet :-)

Adam is great! I have ordered from him before and was very happy. I am bad with names but have some of his corals grown out. Congrats!

Midas blennys are awesome but my all time favorite was a jawfish. I don't have sand anymore so I can't keep one.

I have been running a basement sump for years. Not only the total head height but you also must account for 90 degree couplings and count each one as a foot of head pressure. I have been using a blueline 70 with good results on a 105g tank.

No, never straight. My water is terrible here. Everything is run through my Ro/DI. I just need to chlorinate the well every year. Actually it is recommended that all well owners chlorinate there wells to remove bacteria.

Ut Oh! What the heck happened to my reactor?!?!?!?!

Looks like dino's. I am not 100% sure! but others will chime in. If they are dino's your best bet is to go lights off for a couple days. -
Top of the line Mark. I love that regulator and have had zero issues with it. Unlike others that always had issues. I keep my PH on the low side at about 6.2. Not an issue as long as the media is not turning to mush. I tried to dial in my bubble count to keep it close to the demand (6.2 PH). This way the controller is not turning on and off the regulator 500 times a day. Run the reactor 24/7 and keep checking your alk to dial in your drip rate. Sounds harder than it is and once set correctly you can almost go months without making any adjustments. However I still check my alk every 4-7 days just for piece of mind. You will love it once dialed in!

All but a couple were grown from 1" frags. Between 1-4 years and have also fragged many of them Thanks Frank. You need to stop over whenever you are in the area Was worried for a while but feel better now :-) Great, thanks for looking Thanks!

Yes, long overdue! I just added corals over the past week. For the last couple of months my corals were receding and are just now recovering. I believe this happens due to my well water. I ended up and chlorinated my well and seems to have set things back to normal. This seems to happen every couple of years and this trick has always worked. I believe over time my well water develops a bacteria which effects the water quality. When this happens my corals start dying from the tips. Anyhow, I cut off all dead areas and all corals are back in growth mode again. Although the color on some is way off all are growing again. I find that this tank is too small as I still have a lot of SPS downstairs! Sorry for the slow response to this thread and thank everyone for there kind words. Let me know what you think!

The liquid alk/calc is when things started to go south for me as well. Most likely he ph increase/fluctuation from no calcium reactor contributed. Not sure if is a result of elevated nitrates as I have heard people having Nitrates much higher than mine and SPS thriving. Going to up he water changes and monitor.
-
Over the last couple of months I have been watching the tips of my SPS dying. I thought it was a alk issue as my calc reactor went off line for about 3 weeks (motor died) and I was using two part. Well fixed that issue and my SPS are still receding. Not all of them but of course some of the most expensive ones I own. So last night I checked my water and Phosphates came in as usuall 0.02 but my nitrates were way elevated at 6.0 ppm. I did a 30g water change last night and just checked this afternoon and am currently at 4ppm. Years ago I did dose vodka with success and am wanting opinions and basic guidelines if I do go this course again. Really forgot the dosage i did back then. My system total is about 280 gallon. I also will cut back on my feeding as it is extreme and the food I use has aminos. Probably will just go with mysis and brine and only use the other foods once or twice a week. Thanks for any suggestions, Brian

Yeah, I actually emailed Avast tonight asking for help. I cleaned the skimmer today (major task, will never let it get that bad again!)and seems to be running much better. Still want to upgrade at least one pump preferably two. Thanks for the offer for help and am sure I will be asking more questions.
-
+1 I am not of fan of cleaning the foam every week!
-
Yeah after posting my pic I was thinking the same thing...lol
-
Yeah, I took both pumps apart and cleaned them really well. For some reason one of the Sedra pumps is not drawing like it used to. I think it is time for new pumps which should make this a beast? Did you glue the PVC to the riser? Thanks
-
One of my pumps on my skimmer is not pulling like it once did. This skimmer has been awesome but want to upgrade the pumps and add a gate valve. Never done this before so looking for help. This is an old Euroreef 8-4 which is 36" tall and an 8" body. Currently is run by two Sedra 3500 pumps. The holes in the skimmer body are 3/4". Reef Dynamics sells upgrade kits which uses two modified Eheim 1262's and the gate valve. This would work but are pricey. I know I will most likely have to drill bigger holes and cap the old ones and looking for any advise? Thanks, Brian

I would stock slowly as mentioned. I currently have 29 fish in a 105g with no issues. All of my fish are not aggressive however and on the smaller size. I owned a royal gramma years ago and it was aggressive and the yellow tang can certainly be aggressive. If you do end up and omit one of those look into a Midas blenny (really cool non aggressive fish). You will need a screen/lid with some of these also.

Yeah, sounds good. I will pm you.

Thanks sounds like the way to go. I looked at this but added up the cost and just not an option. If I hit the powerball on Wed! Lol You make good sense. Just hope it is not rocket science to dial it in. Thanks!
