My Apex is acting a bit peculiar. I am trying to update my WMX and I do not know if it did it correctly. I have the following...are they correct? Under SW Rev = 004(OK) Rev 1.1, RF Rev 1.2(1,0,0,0) TIA John

To Apex Controller owners, where do you guys install your system? I'm reluctant to install it inside the stand where water splash and salt creep can occur from the sump. Could you give me some ideas and would definitely appreciate some pictures. Thanks, John

Here is an HD video of the Kessils over my 14g Biocube. White Balance was at 3500K. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh0fGD9LT3A

I'm embarrassed to post pics. I don't have much in my 14g anymore. Maybe a few brown zoos, bubble algae, pair of fish...basically no eye candy. You can say it bit the dust when I was away on/off for a few months, ballasts died, and tried to survive after the move to my new house with old PC Lighting. Starting over and glad my wife suggested to go get a bigger tank in our new house and a bigger budget.

I got my Kessil A150W Deep Blues in yesterday. Trying one of them on my 14g Biocube before going to my new 40g Breeder. I must say I'm loving the shimmer but it's very blue and bright.

I didn't want to close the end T off because I want to prevent the flood back up to the overflow if the drain gets clogged. Water exit into the sump would give me an indicator of water flow/pressure. To me this is my paranoia flood checker for the drain. What if I put a ball valve to increase resistance, between the end T and the exit to the sump? That should give me more pressure to the reactors, right? Is this the normal progression that I should have in the sump? Drain > Biopellet > Skimmer > Carbon > Sump > Return? Should I leave the carbon out of the gravity feed plumbing?

I'm plumbing for the first time on my new 40 Breeder and standard stand. My overflow is rated at 700gph going down on 1.5" drain. I want to gravity feed 3 items if possible, skimmer, biopellet reactor and carbon reactor. All 3 appliances have a 1/2" feed input. I found a t-fitting that is 1.5, 1.5, and 1/2". If I use 3 of these in sequence for each of my 3 appliances (wiith ball valves in between) and the end T exit into sump, would I have enough flow for all of them? The sequence Ts are very close to the first elbow of the drain. I have a Eheim 1260 return pump.

I recently built one for biopellets and about to buy another for carbon. I'm still planning my plumbing for gravity feed from the overflow.

Awesome!!! I want a bigger tank. What is your frag setup?

I missed this post and I just recently finished building my CS1 with recirc. My smallest pump readily available is an MJ600. Is that still too much?

No electricity here since 2am. Battery back up is just about drained. A tree fell across the street and luckily missed a car by a foot. Just patiently waiting for power to come back.

I lost power for only two hours. Thank goodness.

Thanks....1260 ordered.

1260 vs 1262? This is my first time having a sump and plumbing. I have a glass-holes 700gph overflow kit with a 40g Breeder/20g Sump. Should I go higher or lower in gph for the return pump with the overflow?

I just ordered my apex controller today with WXM. I saw this how to document online setting it all up. Let me know how it goes. http://reeftech.webs.com/Apex%20New%20User%20Guide.pdf -
This looks neat. I'm still contemplating how to plumb my new tank. Is it quiet?

Thanks guys. I got it out using hot water.

This is my first time working with plumbing. I just received my schedule 80 plumbing from BRS. I was just dry fitting them and now the elbow and spigot are stuck together, same size 3/4. I have tried putting them in the fridge for 10mins, using cold soapy water and it just won't come apart or twist. Any ideas to take it apart? Does someone have two strap wrenches I can borrow, hopefully near me? Thanks, John

Looks great!! On the other video when placing it down to the sand bed, @ 10secs, it looks like you have pipes laid out on the bed as well. What is this for?

I have an intank mediabasket with submersible light and cheato. I don't have any problems with the pump being clogged. Did you remove the sponge that was in chamber 3?

Thanks!!!

Renewed over the weekend and paid through Paypal. I'm not getting access to the Member Forum nor acknowledgement of being a paid member. Please help.

I'm not so sure if it is. It started to slime and it lost a head the other day. I made a quick 4 gallon water change and moved it to the left end of the frag tray for more flow. Spot fed with DT's Phytoplankton and then diluted a drop of Lugol's iodine in 1 cup of tank water and sprayed it along with the torch. As of today it stopped slimming and it's extending it's polyps. Hopefully it's getting better.

Here are a few pictures during feeding. The first night I was feeding the frags with freeze dried cyclop-eeze. A few ate them but it took a while for them to realize it and take it in. Tonight I am experimenting with silverside chopped up for the entire tank. All hand fed. Here is the sun coral. All four top heads were each given a piece. They have expanded their mouths that they engulf the food within 2 minutes. The one on the top left is a little bit smaller than the rest and is taking it's time. After engulfing the food, one of the mouths is puckering up. Here is the ricordia eating silverside. Both of the rics have two mouths. I can't wait for them to split someday. Goniopora I need to invest on a tripod and a coral view box. It's hard keeping my camera still and even with the pumps off the water is stirring probably from the fish. All pics are at f/32, 1/8 - 1/25 sec, ISO 3200. Update The head that was taking his time to eat passed his food to the big guy on the right. I was told they never share food.

After 6 hours of drip acclimation I finally placed the frags in my tank. Here is a closer look.
