  1. Did you not heat your water change water?
  2. Brownish spots.... It could be a bacteria bloom or it could be coraline algae. A photo would help better ID what it is. Once everything reaches zero you can add a clean up crew and very slowly add other things like fish and coral.
  3. We've just finished the framing for our 75..... where do your overflows sit? I ask because with our stand only the 2x4 on edge will clear the stand- two around the top would require drilling or removing pieces to manage the plumbing.
  4. Well you can always see how lucky you are..... unplug the heater and stick your hand in. If that's not it move to pumps, skimmer, etc. It's better if you can figure it out than have your stuff supercharged.
  5. I've been wondering about your led's on a wood lattice... How are you mounting that in the hood? Would a metal piece be a better choice for the span and moisture?
  6. You may want to lower the corals in your tank as well for a few weeks.
  7. Can you use a piece of conduit with maybe a rubber gasket or glue seal around the end? I don't see how a snow brush is going to keep moisture out.
  8. I like the pencil drawings Are you putting a lid on the 20H as a just in case you drop some of your electronics in there- or they release from their mountings? or is it more like a drawer?
  9. Why do you need a 20k MH for your fuge? What are you trying to grow in there? Have you disturbed the sand bed recently?
  10. I found these links on helping to ID crabs- this may help get you in the right direction. Reefkeeping and this one Chucks Addiction
  11. Are you testing for individual elements, i.e. CA, MAG, ALk? If so, what are your readings? For the corals you have your lighting is sufficient, however, your anemone may appreciate something like a t5 or MH. The light upgrade would also provide better light for corals your looking to keep down the road. Water parameters need to be checked- so let us know what they are so we can better help, as just changing the light isn't going to fix your current problem.
  12. I was thinking Gorilla crab- not reef safe!
  13. Why didn't you just move the inverts to a QT tank for treatment or sell them? No need killing them and the red bugs!
  14. What do you want to use for lighting? Do you want a canopy?
  15. Why go to all that trouble? Any chlorine in tap water will gas off before you reuse the sand. Just be sure to rinse it thoroughly. You'll know if you did a good job when you go open the bucket/bag to reuse it. I've never bothered to reuse sand, but I've helped several people and we just used the hose.
