  1. ok, so i'm finally getting around to setting up my ATO but would like to see what others folks out there have. Here's what I have and trying to accomplish: tunze osmolator Kalk Reactor 55 gallon water drum for ro/di water ro/di connected to my laundry faucet currently, i turn on the ro/di unit manually to fill the water drum, then pump the water into my sump when i see that water has evaporated. Obviously, then requires constant attention so I'd like to automate things more. 1) Is there a way that I can just leave the ro/di unit on all the time with the line running into my water drum with a float valve that will trigger the ro/di unit to dispense water when it the water line drops? 2) How should I hook the Tunze osmolator to the kalk reactor so that it will dispense that as my top-off water? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated... pictures of your setup always welcome
  2. i was gonna order from here a few weeks ago but changed plans... definitely will have to reconsider if Atlantic Sea Farms becomes a sponsor and we can discounts
  3. wow... sorry to hear that. I can help out as well... but won't be out of work and home till at least 6pm. Let me if you need me to help out in any way. I think you have my contact info already, but if not... i'll pm it over to you.

  6. or I can let someone else do all the work and just pay for it just saw this on Ebay... what do you think? 4 fans that are linkable... $25 shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/Fan-Cooling-System-Aqu...%3A1%7C294%3A50
  7. wow... leave it up to you Tom to write this in a way that I had to google 80% of the it just to understand ...lol. I'll give this a try this weekend to see if it helps. In the meantime, would you suggest I get a small dehumidier to see who it does as well?
  8. not sure on this... i know that prior to placing the tank in the basement, I had no issues with moisture.
  9. i haven't recieved my card either
  10. okay... i'm stumped... i viewed the video on DampRid and still no idea how this would work... maybe i'll just get one and see...
  11. i realize it's summer... but what does everyone do about the moisture that accumilates in the room that their tanks are in? I have a 150 gallon in the basement... most of the time is cooler then the rest of the house... now, everytime i walk in there... it's almost as if I had just mopped the tile floor. I was thinking about getting a dehumidifier, but concerned that it would make my water evaporation on the tank fast. any suggestions?
  12. So I found this site that makes AC Fans and the AC plug... all ready and wired to go ... good for us knobbs who just don't have a clue... http://www.coolerguys.com/ac120vfans.html ranging from $14.95 - $16.95 and $2.95 for the cord... what do you guys think? I might order a couple just to see what it's like... they also have a bunch of cool stuff on their sites as well
  13. ok...let me go home tonight and rip into my old pcs to see what i've got in there.
  14. i heard that i could just use a spare ac adaptor\transformer that i have laying around... is that true... for example, i'm looking at one right now... it indicates this on the back: PLUG IN CLASS 2 TRANSFORMER MODEL NO. :DC120300 INPUT: 120VAC 60 Hz 8w OUTPUT: 12VDC 300mA is that good enough? It's from an old router i had.
  15. okay... ok... i admit.. i'm electronically challenged and anything with electrical wires scares the jeepers out of me... that said, I'm in the process of building a canopy for my new metal halide retro and wanted to get a couple of those fans from my spare computers to use. If anyone has any "how to wire fans for idiots" guides, that would be awesome. thanks Steve
  16. Here's a pic of it
  17. David, everything about working with a "live" tank just scares the #$@@# out me... guess i'll have to get the nerves somehow... Brian Ward was over here this evening and we both looked more closely at the brace... it's warped... the top piece seems in tact, albiet a little crooked... the bottom portion of the kinda seperated towards the back... i'll take a snapshot of it in the morning and post it to get the expert's opinion... thanks all for the advice(s) thus far.
  18. asumming i get this fixed... another question is how high should i hang these lights above the tank? right now, i've got them about 9 or 10 inches above... but i think that's still way to low... thing is giving off heat like an oven
  19. i got off someone on craigslist... not deepblue... but it does look very similiar... not sure if its the same fixture or not...
  20. that's what i'm hoping!!!
  21. no signs of it bowing... but i'm just being proactive... don't want to come home to a busted tank one day
  22. So that means removing the old brace? whoa... that's risky... isn't it? i removed the braces from my 10 gallon tank and that was a pain... a 150 with water and livestock in it.. it's almost the same as drilling, right? do you think i can just get a think piece of acrylic and glue it in place?
  23. dimensions are 72x24x18
  24. haven't had time to setup the 90 yet... this is the 150 gallon...
