  1. Hey all I am planning to move to a new house toward the end of the year, and once I move I would like to build in wall tank, with two pipes going through the wall to the adjacent unfinished storage room. Does anyone know if this type of work require permits? Anyone know of good contractors that cold help with this type of work? Thanks!
  2. Hi All, Just wanted to share my experience with these LED Drivers. I found about these drivers on RC few weeks ago, they are pretty much all in one kind of a solution, the 700L will accept up to 36v, and will output regulated current and will drive as few as one led (perfect for smaller tanks). I ended up ordering these drivers from Alibaba, wasn't able to find it anywhere else, I've paid about 61 dollars including 30 dollars shipping and handling fees from Taiwan. If used along side the PWM shield from adafruit it can provide you with 4095 pwm steps, with the lowest one is 1 on my leds, 0 will turn them off completely. The other benefit is using that pwm shield is that it's only required 2 wires to operate, and won't use any of your Arduino PWM channels. For my Red Sea Max I created 7 channels: 1. Blue 2. Royal Blue 3. 10k 4. 6.5k 5. Purple 6. UV (waste of led space, they are really not that bright, purple bring up the color much better, i will probably swap them out for purple in the future) 7. Pink (really adds a nice touch, especially for sun-up sun-down kind of setup). Unfortunately I always forget to take pictures of when I build things, and don't have any pictures to show. I do however have 4 spare breakout boards, each board can hold up to 4 drivers.
  3. Hehe they tried t grab on the small pallets today lol they almost choked
  4. Aquarium one, it was 7 for 35. Not too bad . Ya I really need to go tom Jan to pick up food, it's on the other side of the river
  5. I got a small school if green chromis yesterday, each one is probably about an inch long. I noticed they won.t touch the Pallrts food I use (omega one) but they will eat what I give the corals. Any food recommendations.
  6. I would love to see that thing set up lol. I like the idea of indoor pool
  7. @basser, that is interesting, however I couldn't find anything online that would support it. Was the only change contributing to the rise of doc was the change in salt mix?
  8. I'll post an image when I get home. It fit perfectly, and I would say it holds probably about a gallon. Perfect for smaller tanks
  9. I just got my order of Red Sea pro, mixed it last night. Haven't tested the levels yet. But it dissolved super fast and was easy to use.
  10. Hey all I bought this pub mix snacks from SAMs club and thought it would make a great auto top off water reservoir. Any thoughts about it?
  11. I used to have the ATo system that BRF sells. I ended up selling that nano few months back, and I am currently own a red sea max 34, might open a thread for it down the road, pretty much moved everything that survived to the new tank

Is it possible that the red zoas are Red People Eaters?
  14. Hi guys, I got several new frags for my birthday. Could you please help me ID them? Trying to keep organized journal of everything. Thanks!
  15. I need about 20-30lbs of rock (or one bucket), I just picked up a Red Sea Max 130 yesterday, and need rock to fill it.
  16. I would go with the 40 gallon, I had larger tanks, and it's a lot of work - also more money to keep. You can do really nice things in a nicer tank. I kind of went from one extreme to the other, I replaced my 150g display tank with a 12gallon nano now i am looking for a little bigger tank, maybe 25-35 gallon so i can have couple more fish
  17. Haven't updated this thread since i created it. Since the last update, i had a pretty bad algea outbreak, followed up by a chemical war between 2 sps colonies which left one dead and the other half dead. After all of that, when I moved in the end of february I have last the rest of the SPS most of the fish, shrimps and some other little frags. Since then everything has been getting a little better.
  18. Joshua I got the book "how to raise and train your peppermint shrimp" which I could spare
  19. I used to have peppermints spawn in my previous tank. Huge meal for the rest of the tank :-)
