  1. I am going to be moving from the Fredericksburg , Va area 4 hours south to NC. And I am wondering what the best way to move my complete 250gallon setup without harm.
  2. Awsome , Thanks
  3. Yeah it was the same failure on the other bulb. Hole was in the outer part of the bulb not the inner. The T5's are 4 - 39watt 420 nm and 4 - 39 watt 460nm lamps. I just dont want it to look too blue...
  4. I have a Outer Orbit Pro 72" HQI/T5HO fixture that has been in service sence September and it has three 250w hqi 10,000k bulbs. When I got home form work last week I noticed that one of the bulbs was out. So I turned off the ballast to that lamp and after about 30 minuites I turned it back on. It would begin to warm up that lamp and then the lamp would shut off. I swapped ballasts and the problem followed the lamp not the ballast. After inspecting the lamp I find a hole in the side of it.... darn thing is only 4 months old!!!... Now today another one of them went out and I have just the one in the middle working. I called current and they told me that the bulbs are only warrantied for 3 months... WONDERFULL. I have these on timers and they come on at 1200 and turn off at 2000. So I know it is not from them being on too long. Here are my questions: 1. Is this normal for these HQI bulbs to do this. 2. What would someone suggest as a good replacement bulb? ( I was thinking Phoenix 14,000k's ) 3. Could the ballast actually be causing this? If so how would I know? Thanks
  5. I would have to agree

  9. Well my friend got back to me today and this is what he has found out... Looks like that powder he was telling me about was Fenbendazole. It takes care of ascarids (roundworms) including the threadworms, it is also effective against the flatworms too. This is also a good broad spectrum dewormer , so that you can preserve the bacterial flora within your coral. Another product is called Ivermectin. This drug comes in an injectable form, it is a thick oily solution (NOT SURE THAT IS GOOD??) . One problem is that Ivomec is light sensitive so long exposure to light can deactivate the medication. This is a very common drug (it is the active ingredient in Heartgard the heartworm preventative) you want the bovine form which would be easy to mix in water. Please keep in mind that he has no idea what these products will do to coral, so try it out on something small at first. He could not find any of that Levamisol in his cabinets, but said to look for both those drugs at the

  18. It has been this way sence last friday. Is that long normal. I have one of my Koralia's pointed so it has flow over the head area.
  19. My toadstool has been acting wierd the past week and cannot figure out why. He is mid-level in the tank under 250w MH. He was fully open for weeks except for short periods at night but would always fully extend and all the polyps would come out. And for the past week he has been closed and moving his head. The only thing that I have changed in the system is adding Chemipure Elite. And he did start doing doing this shortly after I added this. But I was using Rowaphos before. I have been checking my levels and all are good. Anyone have any suggestions.
