  1. Hey Guys, Im hoping a moderator or someone sees this, but I'm trying to become a paid member, but the link, where you choose paypal or mail order is a dead link, and I cant seem to find any help getting this done. Any suggestions? Thanks. -Mitch
  2. are mh's that much better than t5's and are they worth the extra moolah, if your trying to keep basic corals, like frogspawns, anemones and clams?
  3. I'd be intereseted in 4 ... how would we coordinate pick up and the likes. -Mitch
  4. Hey Guys, With all of the recent questions about lighting, I felt like I should throw my own in there. First of all I am pretty new to the hobby, and recently started a 75-gallon reef tank. I have Coralife lights with 65W actinics and 65W halides ... my halides run for about 10 hours during the day and actinics run 12 hours during the day. I was wondering how important LEDs at night were, and if 65W lights are strong enough. I recently added four corals, an anemone, a mushroom polyp, and two others which pardon my ignorance, looked cool, but dont know their names. Im a little concerned because the mushroom doesnt seem to opening as much as I would have liked, and the brown polyp is certainly not opening at all. I tried attaching a few picuters, but here is my link to a photobucket page ... thanks, I appreciate all of your help. -Mitch
  5. Thats what I have on my 75-gallon tank now ... I dont find any problems with it running hot, and as the previous poster wrote, Ive had no problem with them, and love it.
  6. Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate the input
  7. Hi Guys, I'm in the midst of cycling a tank for the first time, after adding some live sand, rock and water, my specific gravity is nearly 1.03 ... how do i go about lowering it? Thanks, I appreciate any feedback.
  8. Unfortunately, I dont have a digital camera ... but basically there is a corner overflow in the back left corner of the tank, and there are two pieces of PVC piping one running from inside the overflow that connects to a piece underneath the tank that connects to the sump, where I have a protein skimmer and the return tube. The leak is underneath the tank, at the connection where the tubing that runs down to the sump is, I hope that makes sense, any input would be great. Thanks, and I live in Bethesda. I really appreciate it.
  9. Thanks I appreciate the answer, after further testing, the problem seems to be that the connection from the overflow to the sump is not water-tight, and any water that is put into the overflow, is just leaking straight through to the sump ... is super glue my best option for fixing the leak?
  10. Ok. I already know this is a stupid question, but I have a 75g aquarium with a built in overflow, my question is, should the overflow constantly have water in it, or is it literally just for water overflow. Thanks I appreciate it.
  11. Hey Guys, I'm new to the forum and new to saltwater fish tanks. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but after a quick search I couldn't find any recent topics, but as I have recently setup my first tank I am looking to populate with fish, and was wondering weather any online fish stores were reputable, and if so which ones have you guys have good experiences with. Thanks in advance, and I look forward to learning from you guys.
