  1. That's an insane amount of worms! Sent from my Kindle Fire using Tapatalk 2
  2. Cheapest LEDs out there, but some crazy complicated dimming.... Go figure.
  3. I'll be keeping an eye on this, I could even get it to work with my old Aquacontroller and AquaSurf module I think.
  4. It was shortly before my carbon change that I noticed the problem, and the more vibrant of the 2 red caps did have its color fade before it began to recede. No lighting changes to the tank at all. If the problem persists I plan to frag this cap for sure.
  5. I'll give it a check. Did you run carbon on that tank? I run carbon 24/7, so maybe that'll help if it's a copper issue.
  6. Here are a few other caps on the tank for reference. Tank parameters: Temp 78 SG 1.025 PO4 .02 NO3. 0 Alk 7.5 Ca 440
  7. I have 2 red monti pieces that are having issues, both have been in the tank a few months and doing well. One is almost totally gone, and the other has 2 specific spots not doing well that are slowly growing in size. All other caps are doing well, so what gives? Are the red variety known to be more delicate? Each was on opposite sides of the tank, so I don't think the issue was local. Sorry for the blue tint
  8. Funniest post I've seen in a while! Awesome tank too
  9. I know this response isn't an answer to your question exactly, and I apologize for that ahead of time. I highly recommend the Hanna low range PO4 tester, that thing has made my testing procedure MUCH more accurate, and very easy (once you get the hang of the Hanna test procedure that is). My best guess for the above is .1ish
  10. Exactly my thought process on the matter.
  11. Thanks for the offer, but I think I have enough scraps around to patch these 4 holes. As for the suggestion of 16, have you ever heard of it not doing well over time? I've read a few reports that it has become brittle on folks after a few years. Is 16 good enough to create a lasting water tight seal under the pressure at the bottom of a tank? Thanks for the help everyone!
  12. I have an Acrylic 180 (1/4 acrylic I believe, its a Clarity Plus brand) I want to set-up, but it was drilled with 4 closed loop holes in the bottom. I'm not sure if I feel very comfortable with bottom drilled drains in a tank, so I would like to patch over the holes with some squares of acrylic. My question is, what type of weld-on would be best suited for this project (3,4,16,40)? The patches will be made on the inside of the tank, and oversized by about 1" to cover the hole. Thanks
  13. The user guide says it's switchable to work on .25 - .5 thickness glass
  14. Lol, I'm hoping that's the case.
  15. Yea, the refractometer was calibrated just a couple weeks ago. I also checked with my back-up to confirm. Lights are: 2x Blue Plus = 8.5 hours a day Actinic and Coral Plus = 6.5 hours a day Here is an updated picture. I blew it off with a syringe last night to make sure there was nothing on it, and to cause it to retract so I could better see the damage. It has yet to fully reopen.
  16. Here's the latest water params: SG = 1.026 pH = 8.2-8.4 Ca = 440 KH = 8.5 PO4 = .01 Mg = 1320 NO3 = 0
  17. Fish are as follows: - 1 Stocky Anthias - 1 Yellow Tang - 1 Tomni Tang - 2 ocellaris clowns Inverts: Blue Leg Hermits 2 cleaner Shrimp 1 Fire shrimp Various snails Lighting is 4 39w T5: 2 Blue Plus 1 Coral Plus 1 Actinic
  18. I was worried about the retraced polyps that look black-ish. On the right branch you can see one almost looks like a gaping hole? Here is a view of what I'm talking about
  19. I noticed my stylophora was looking rough today. It was fine yesterday, and I'm not sure what's going on. Here's a picture of the damage. Any ideas?
  20. That's good to know. I figured the pond foam between the rock portions would help to strengthen the egg crate a little due to it filling the holes. If only concrete weren't such a pH nightmare.
  21. I had been considering a rock and pond foam project for my new set-up, but after reading this thread I'm a little worried. Do the egg crate projects really tend to fail over time?
  22. What about liquid electrical tape? Then some silicone over that to be safe?
  23. Mine does that from time to time, I wouldn't sweat it at all. What I'm not 100% sure of, is if it might contain any kind of stinging cells (for when it lets go and flys around your tank). Maybe someone will chime in on that
  24. I was giving it a closer look now that the lights are on, and I think I've figured it out. Looks like something must have been shot out the mo10, and wrapped around the frag. The only portion in that middle band that's ok, is the side opposite the MP10. I'll keep an eye on it, and if it gets worse I'll just frag the top off.
  25. Yes, the one to the left is a gold torch. I'll move him farther away to be safe. Thanks everyone for the help, I've learned some new things for sure
