do you feed nori sheets to the tang? Tangs need to graze on nori or other types of seaweed. I have had the same yellows for 4+ years and never had HLLE. I feed nori 5+ days a week. Either seaweed selects, bulk nori from bigalsonline.com or you can buy some at asian stores.

Happy Spring All! WHAT'S NEW? In our shipments this week we received some really nice and exotic fish including Bundoon and Canary Fang Blennies, a small Harlequin Tusk, a Fiji Foxface Rabbitfish, an extra small Cave Goby, more Green Chromis, a Two-Spot Blenny, a Chocolate Tang, Black and Gold Damsels and a nice large Tomato Clownfish. In our coral shipment we received a nice red Lobophyllia, more orange and green zoanthids, a red mushroom rock, some nice Ricordea rocks, and a few really nice Open Brains. We also had a couple customers bring in some corals this week including some Waving Hand Polyps and neon green Trumpet corals. These are great looking corals and I am sure they will go fast so make sure to stop by and pick one up. WHAT'S ON SALE? Coolworks Iceprobes and chiller controllers are 15% off. For those looking for a smaller reef, or even fish only, Eclipse 6-gallon and 12-gallon are 10% off. Tropic Marin ElimiPhos is 10% off so stock up if you are having a phosphate problem, this stuff works great. Still on sale are Visi Therm heaters at 20% off and an assortment of corals up to 25% off. DID YOU KNOW? Did you know that as the weather starts warming up, you might have some problems keeping your tank cool? The intense lighting is one of the main causes of over-heating your aquarium. Your house temperature can also affect the temperature of your aquarium. Some easy ways of cooling your tank are by adding plastic cooling fans to your canopy or a chiller to your system. Fans are easily installed and less expensive than a chiller yet fans will only cool your system a couple of degrees whereas a chiller can cool your tank as much as you need depending on the size of the chiller. Don't forget that temperature stability is very important, so you will still need a working heater even in these hot summer months coming up. Fluctuation of more that a couple of degrees can bring on infections of parasites such as ich and can stress your fish, corals and inverts, so make sure that your temperature only changes a degree or two between your day and night cycle. Do you know how many degrees your tanks temperature fluctuates? Hope to see you in this weekend! Whale-Dolphin Hybrid Has Baby Wholphin By JEANNETTE J. LEE, Associated Press Writer http://beta.news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050415/a...rth_6&printer=1 The only whale-dolphin mix in captivity has given birth to a playful female calf, officials at Sea Life Park Hawaii said Thursday. The calf was born on Dec. 23 to Kekaimalu, a mix of a false killer whale and an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin. Park officials said they waited to announce the birth until now because of recent changes in ownership and operations at the park. The young as-yet unnamed wholphin is one-fourth false killer whale and three-fourths Atlantic bottlenose dolphin. Her slick skin is an even blend of a dolphin's light gray and the black coloring of a false killer whale. The calf still depends fully on her mother's milk, but sometimes snatches frozen capelin from the hands of trainers, then toys with the sardine-like fish. She is jumbo-sized compared to purebred dolphins, and is already the size of a one-year-old bottlenose. "Mother and calf are doing very well," said Dr. Renato Lenzi, general manager of Sea Life Park by Dolphin Discovery. "We are monitoring them very closely to ensure the best care for them." Although false killer whales and Atlantic bottlenose dolphins are different species, they are classified within the same family by scientists. "They are not that far apart in terms of taxonomy," said Louis Herman, a leading expert in the study of marine mammals. There have been reports of wholphins in the wild, he said. Kekaimalu, whose name means "from the peaceful ocean," was born 19 years ago after a surprise coupling between a 14-foot, 2,000-pound false killer whale and a 6-foot, 400-pound dolphin. The animals were the leads in the park's popular tourist water show, featured in the Adam Sandler movie "50 First Dates." Kekaimalu has given birth to two other calves. One lived for nine years and the other, born when Kekaimalu was very young, died a few days after birth. Park researchers suspect the wholphin's father is a 15-foot long Atlantic bottlenose dolphin named Mikioi. "He seems to be totally oblivious to this happening," Lenzi said. False killer whales do not closely resemble killer whales. They grow to 20 feet, weigh up to two tons and have a tapering, rounded snout that overhangs their toothed jaw. Atlantic bottlenose dolphins reach a maximum size of 12 feet and can weigh up to 700 pounds. Sea Life Park officials said they hope to decide on a name for the baby wholphin soon and move her to a large display tank in a few months.
