I have done alot of reading on the subject. Here is what I know... They were first spotted in the early 90's. I spotted one in 2001 off the wreck of the dixie arrow. The two I captured were collected off that wreck as well. The gulf stream has come a little closer to the coast this year which is causing alot more tropical fish to be spotted as far north as RI. The Breeding pairs of lionfish are some were south of the Diamond shoals in NC. The larger adults tend to be located in deeper waters 125+ and have been spotted as far north as Hatteras, NC. I will post links to more articles about the east coast lionfish when I get back to work on thursday. Byron

I completely agree with Dave. There needs to be a store that carries the Higher end stuff like Deltec, T5 lighting, And those big long URI bulbs that always cost an arm & a leg to get shipped to you. This store should also have all those stupid litte things us reefers need like plastic hose clamps, Bulk heads and Glass Drill bits. They should also have really big aquacultured Maxima Clams! DAVE, I wish there was a store like that in the DC metro Area but I guess all we can do is just hope one day we will. Don't worry Dave I will buy you a round at MACNA and we can talk about how great Blue ribb.....errrr How great it would be to have a shop that catered to us reefers. -Byron
