Yup, I'm kinda lazy when it comes to water changes and all so I plumed in a 3/4 hose barb so whenever I do my weekly water changes all I have to do is connect the hose and run it to the sink. I just modified the drain plumbing to accommodate the euro-reef skimmer I'm getting in the mail today. so I'll post new pics when I get things installed. the only issue I have right now is that I'm supposed to be on my way to Solomons Islands... oh well I guess a couple hours late isn't so bad. cheers! BTW I got you on those beers probably in July I will host a tank tour/BBQ served with a large cooler of beers!

I spoke to the wife it seems a June is out due to other engagements, however July is in! so I will settle on a date with my wife and beer and BBQ it will be! oh BTW what type of beer do you guys/gals prefer?

Nice, well that clears things up a bit.... okay I guess I'm going to redesing my plumbing to include a little spray paint. Personally the best cigars I've had were from Panama, I went to this town called Cheateauge where the main business was tobacco. There I found out the main export of tobacco goes to none other than Habana Cuba for their infamous cigars. Naturally I purchased a couple of boxes and I tell you the truth they are great cigars for only .50 a piece. However the Cohiba I bought were really good to at nice prices, $3.50 each.

wow this project is totally DIY and its very functional... nice job! question though... is it okay to spray paint the PVC and put it inside the water? I thought that wasn't good for fish, coral, inverts ect.... I'm confused sorry noob here...

Thanks! Ummm in that case it will be awhile until I have my tank/house ready for visitors. Honeydew list just keeps on gettin bigger... but when I do, I'll have lots of food BBQ style and lots of beer for you guys and gals...

okay now I feel retarded because I don't understand. So you paint your PVC but only the parts that don't have contact with the aquarium water. right? BTW I really like your picture of that COHIBA Cigar, I get a box of those every time I go to Panama. Customs is awesome all you have to do is have the rings and cigars in different bags/boxes and your fine.

So I just read in the DIY forum that you can spray paint PVC pipes and then use it in your aquarium. (If I misread that someone please let me know before I kill everything in my tank!) With this in mind I'm gonna redo my return so I can spray paint it black to match the back wall and so it's not as noticeable. what do you think?

bigJPDC: so you have painted PVC underwater? this doesn't effect your corals and fish at all?

so let me get this straight... I can paint my PVC pipes with Krylon spray paint and after a good 24 hours of drying I can then stick it in my aquarium water without having issues?

haha yeah tell me about it, I leave that hanging there to remind me not to waste money on crap... If you look in my gallery check out my other sump pictures you will see a refract in a blue case down there too! thanks though... the tanks age is around 7 months now, its kinda hard keeping it clean but I manage to clean it real nice for pictures and visitors.
