  1. Yeah, I search, and know that there are several medicine to kill them. But there are some website suggested that you can use lemon juice to kill them too. http://saltaquarium.about.com/cs/msubpesta.../a/aa061903.htm I was just wondering if anybody ever try this. Thanks, Tee ----------

    Light setting

I was refering to the time set up of the Actinic. RIght now I have two plugs (1 for the white and 1 for the Actinic ) in the same timer from 10am to 8pm. They both turn on and off at the same time. I don't think my digital timer can program the white and Actinic at different time. Thanks Brian, Tee ----------------- The 50/50 bulbs are usually 10k and actinic, but you can also get ones that are all actinic or all 10k. It all just depends on the light color you prefer. The actinic bulbs make a lot of the colors appear more vibrant. As far as time interval - I'm assuming you're referring to the recommended photoperiod for the tank? Most recommend no more than 8 - 10 hrs since algae growth will become a problem. ~Brian
  16. Hi, I tried to read throught most of the thread, and still can't find what I was looking for. Can somebody explain to me why compact flourescent fixture have two lamps (white and Actinic )? What is the purpose for the Actinic other than it make the tank look like ocean? what time interval do you recommend. Thanks Tee
  17. Henry, I bet you my pay check that the original contractor installed #14AWG in your basement. This is residential, and 99%, electrician install #14AWG for a 15Amp breaker. #12AWG is more expensive. Home deport have a circuit trace, that you can use to trace your circuit. If you don't do a circuit trace, you wouldn't know if other receptacles in your basement is in the same circuit or not. I guess you just have to do a trial and error to find out if any other receptacle in your basement is not in the same circuit of the original receptacle you plug your vac in. It kind of a waste if just install another dedicate circuit for a vacuum. I installed dedicate circuit for my Entertainment system. Another thing you might do is to get another vacuum with less wattage from the one you have now. Tee --------------------------------------------- Carl and Brian, Is there anyway to look at the wiring and see if its for 15 or 20 AMP breakers I have a few mixed breakers in the box. Do they do the mix the wiring in the house the majority of the time? My basement is finished except my shop/laundry room area :(. I guess its turning into a tear the walls apart project :(. Henry

    Microfauna

:( Thanks a lot for all the response. I have about 60 lbs of live rock. My Dragonnet is not coming out my rock often. It will be a challenge to get him, even if Marine Scene accept store credict. I am not worry about the 30 dollar. I am sad now that I know I will starve my fish to death. :..( Tee

    Microfauna

Yeah, I have the Mandarin Dragonet. Oh man, I am in trouble now. Tee ------------------------------------------------------------- Check out your tank at night after the lights have been out for awhile. If you see "critters" running around then you have them. You can buy some from BRK as the have then in a bottle.
  20. Hi all, First off, I just joined Wamas as a member, hello everyone. I had my tank running for about 7 months now. My rock started to have coraline purple. All I have in my 55 galon now are live rock, one anemonie, one Tomato Clown, one Damsel, one Six Line. I just bought a Dagonet from Marine Scene for 30$. I read from all the site that this fish need "Microfauna" to eat. I bought used live rock from Craigslist, and has been in my tank for 7 months now. How do I know if my rock has Microfauna? Does Dagonet eat flake and pellet too? I am gonna need a couple of equipments anf stock for my new tank too. Hopefully when I got my membership card, I can get some used equipment from you guys. Thanks a lot, Tee
  21. Da Freak, Thanks a lot for the generous offer. I am not close to you, I live in Burke, Va; close to Springfield. Can you give me a link, or take a picture of what the guard mesh look like? Thanks a lot man, Tee ------------------
  22. Hi, My overflow doesn't has anything to prevent the small fish (1.5" fish) getting suck through the over flow. Are there anything that I can add to my over flow to prevent the small get suck through the over flow? Thanks Tee
  23. Yeah, I dumped it already. I feed the Brime Shrimp mainly for my Anemone. My Anemone was dying, and shrunk. THe guy at Petland told me to feed Brine shrimp to the Anemone. My anemone actually ate the shrimp, and showing color, and grow back to it normal size. I was just curious why some body told me to keep the live Brine Shrimp in the Frig to keep it cold, some other people told me just live it outside and put a buble ball to provide oxigen and water movement. Thanks, Tee
  24. Why do I ask? Because I don't know. I am new to saltwater fish. I have been feeding them with flake, and pellet food. This is the first time I try live Brime shrimp. Thanks for those who answer my question, I really appreciate that. Tee
  25. Hi, I bought some live Brine shrimp, put in the Frig. It has been a week now, and they die. It has a little bad smell. Is it still ok to feed them to my fish? THanks Tee
