  1. Hi, I am thinking about building a canope for my 125gal. I am not sure what is the best way to retrofit the lighting in the canope. Should I use two line of 36" T5 lamps, or one line of 72" lamps. Does anybody in the Springfield area have this canope with retrofit light that I can stop by and take a look, please PM me. Thanks a lot for the help in advance, Tee

  6. Cool, I'll order from a Typhoon III soon. Do you happen to have the manual in PDF that I can have? Can you modify this to make water for drinking too? What is the freebees stuff they give you? Thanks Tee ------------------------------------
  7. Dead Shrimp will just foul your water, more ammonia. I wouldn't put dead thing in the tank. Get some establish live rock, live sand from establish tank is the best. You got to be patient with this cycle. If the setup dried for a couple weeks, everything already die off. After my system up and running for a month, I test my water, and add a damsel. Keyword is PATIENT, I think. Tee --------------------------------------------------
  8. Wow, Thanks a lot Bob. I will order RO?DI from them soon. I was gonna get one at Home Depot, but this sound good. Thanks, Tee --------------------------------
  9. Josh I haven't got any luck with my fish got itch. One of the guy at Petland told me to do a quick dip the fish in fresh water. Make sure the fresh water the same temp as the aquarium. Anybody every try this? I bought my fish at Petco, and most of them got itch after a week or so in my tank. I am not sure if it's Petco fish or what. Petco does have cheaper fish than a LFS though. 11. Oh, sorry that I forgot to mention. I have a Turbo Berlin HO Skimmer with Rio pump. I have it in my sump. I haven't been able to adjust it right to make it produce dark foam. Here is how I had it set up: I have the pump inside my sump, and the skimmer is outside of my sump. I leave the air valse full open, and the flow regulator at about 3/4 to the max. The manual said I should adjust the flow rate so that the bubble won't go to the outside tube. The problem is when I adjust the flow regulator so that it won't produce bubble to the outside tube, there will be no foam come up the cup collector. If I increase the flow regulator, foam will come up, water flow out the outflow, but the bubble will also see in the outside tube. After a month, now even when I turn the pump regulator to the max, it doesn't produce much bubble anymore. Here is my skimmer, Red Sea Berlin Hang-on Protein Skimmer: http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewItem~idProduct~RS1113.html Mamual: http://www.customaquatic.com/customaquatic...uels/berlin.pdf If anybody in the Burke area, between Braddock and Burke Lake Road, please let me know if you can stop by my house to take a look at my setup. I really appreciate that. Thanks a lot for all the help, Tee -------------------------------------------
  12. Hi all, My old, used skimmer produce very little bubble. The pump seem weakend, eventhough I adjust it to the max. I had it set at 3/4 before, and it produce a lot of bubble. It was clean about a month ago before I bought it. How often do you guy clean your skimmer pump? Every month? And how do you clean your pump? Thanks, Tee

  17. Hi newfish, I am glad you made it here. I was the one who email you. There are a couple guy selling 150lbs of live rock in the member section for 3$/lbs. This is a good deal for live rock. I think 20 dollar for membership will pay itself off. Tee ----------------------------
  18. Yeah, I plan to inject lemon juice to kill the Aitapsia. My water is fine, the other Zoanthids are open up and happy. Just this one next to the darn Aitapsia Anemone. Stuff that I want to grow won't grow, stuff that don't want to grow, grow like crazy. darn the Aitapsia to H-E-double hocky sticks. Tee --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  19. I have a small rock with some Zoanthids. Lately, it's close and unhappy. I see two Aiptasia Anemone grow on that rock. Is it why my Zoanthids close? 23. My intend wasn't mean to point him out. I just want to know how can I get coraline on my base rock (suppose to be live rock). I thought that after 8-9 months, it should give me some purple. But there is no purple coraline on my rock now. I guess all I got from him is just a bunch of base rock. Maybe I need some real live rock with coraline to introduce the coraline to my base rock. Thanks for the help in advance, Tee PS: I was a newbie to saltwater, and still am. I didn't know about Wamas until I bought a bunch of junk from him.
  24. Hi all, I guess some of you might know this guy name Jian live in Ashburn. He is frequently posted tank, equipment for sale on Craiglist. When I started my very first saltwater tank, I bought rock from him. He said he down side his tanks, so want to get rid of his "live rock". This guy has about 20 plus tank in his basement. Even though he said he is trying to down side his tank, I think he lied. I think he get used tank from somewhere, and keep selling it. The same with his equipments. I know a couple of people bought "live rock" from him, turn out just base rock. He can't keep having 100 lbs of live rock every week, and claim that he's down side his tank. For a newbie, I didn't know the different between live rock and base rock. It has been 8 months now, and my rock has no coralline. I have 46 gal tank, power compact light 192w. My question is what else can I do to make to rock turn purple. Do I need to get a couple of real live rock to introduce the coralline to my rock? Or if I upgrade the lighting, it will help? Thanks, Tee PS: This is one of his ad: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/for/525852146.html He also claim on his ad that his location is Herndon, Reston, Ashburn, Tyson Corner, Centreville on each of his post, but he is the same guy.
