  1. Today
  2. Meeting this Saturday! Hope to see you there.
  3. Yesterday
  4. Thanks. That makes a lot of sense
  5. That looks like a spionid worm (has the trademark “antenna”/palpi). It’ll eventually settle in a lower flow area on the sand and build a tube around itself using the grains of sand. The wrasses I’ve kept never seemed interested in them, but YMMV. They don’t multiply quickly nor bother corals, so I wouldn’t worry too much about them.
  6. Come join us today for some insane deals!
  7. Hard to tell from the pic but the sort of feathery look suggest some kind of polychaete worm, not sure if I know any with antennae like that, though. I had sort of suspected vermetid snail out of its shel, but it turns out those are really snails and not worms, so their body doesn't look like that. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a tube/hole dwelling worm and the antennae are its feeder appendages.

  11. My best guess is a spaghetti worm
  12. Thanks! I have 3 wrasses. Sixline, Melenarus and Coris so hope they do their job
  13. 20 years ago out of the blue all my acros would not grow at all.......they didnt rtn/stn just no growth. Took a flashlight at night and saw a ton of little clear what i belive to have been sea spyders. After sucking them out over a month everything went back to normal. Long of it i would look at night at any lps/sps and see if these thing are on them otherwise there are most likely hundreds of creatures rooking at night we never sea. Always seems like a good idea to have some type of wrasse that eats pest if you dont already.
  14. Was on glass when lights came on. About 1/2 inch maybe a little more with 1+ inch antennae.

  18. I don't think it is fish related. No change in characters (Bristletooth, clowns, sixline, melanerus, dragonet). Pumps are only off during feeding and even then not all the time. I did increase my photo period by 30 minutes and switched it back last night but don't think that would do it. It is on the sand bed. I do have a few inverts (emerald, cleaner, pep, banded, urchin. Am afraid it being some kind of worm or pest burrowing in. Will do a bath today and see if that helps. Parameters are all good and stable. Everything is doing fine. Mixed Reef (SPS Dominant) 80 Deep Blue Thanks!
  19. Do you leave your pumps off for a long period? Or has it happened recently? I wonder if something settled on it and smothered it or something. I've seen a little bit of direction-specific polyp loss from being overlit, where the rest of the coral still seemed fine, but it usually slowly spread out from that spot, was accompanied by bleaching, and it probably wouldn't be just a central polyp unless it was like conical. A fish could certainly do something, but are there that many fish that would eat/damage the one polyp and then leave the rest alone in the long term? Mine always came back for more eventually
  20. Can you get some clearer photos (daylight pic)? And all the other polyps are healthy? Typically when I see top-down LPS damage like that, it's a fish that went rogue. That's not always the case, but... what's your inhabitant list? Shrimp and some other inverts can do this, too, but they usually go in from the sides. Can you provide your tank parameters and general setup? It would also help to have a full tank shot.
  21. It seems as if the single lps polyp is affected by some kind of pest but can’t see anything. Pic is tonight after being out of town for a few days. Any ideas?

Here are a few pieces I was able to hand pick. They're destined for ValaWan's reef after a brief quarantine period.
  25. Thank you, Matt! You have to stop by one day to check out the build in person!
