Hi everyone,

Tank has Coraline everywhere, still getting some slow tissue necrosis on the frags. The tissue is getting darker on most frags, i physically lowered the lights a bit to see if i could get them more light. Here are my parameters

Salinity: 35.7
Temp: 77.8 F
Alk: 9.0
Cal: 444
PO4: 0.03
NO3: 0.0

I have been increasing the feeding a little. Still running  zeovit. Dosing some aminos too.

Has grown a little but the stn is getting to it and has darken up a bit.

sorry for the clouded image this was after cleaning the tank a bit.

Here's before the cleaning.

I don't believe the wrasse has shown up in the build yet. Got him a month or two back. He is doing great. He's in there with a tomoni Tang and two cardinals, a bunch of astra snails and blue leg hermits.

I put some gorgonians in, they have been a canary in the coal mine for me in the past. If i see them closed i know something is up.

Scape looks great! Sorry about the struggles.  It sounds like overall things are growing so it might just be a particular coral.  However, if you continue to have issues, some thoughts:

I'm a big believer that it takes about a year for things to stabilize in a system for sps to drive and twice that for dry rock, in general.  I wonder if your biological substrate isn't mature enough?  I don't remember exactly how your start was. The other thing is that the nitrates and po4 we check are not always indicative of the amount of availability of building blocks but I believe, and again, not an expert, but that you really need high input and high export.  Your nutrients being near zero might be an issue.

Thank you Roni. Yeah it might just need some more time. I am trying to up the feeding but will be doing that slowly. I did start the tank completely dry but then added a rock from a trusted source when I gave up.

No ideas why, but I’ve never had coraline grow so fast!

Hi everyone,

I've introduced a few batches of corals to the system with no losses to the new corals! Some of the old corals are still on their way out though.

The green slimmer that's been in the system has kept STNing i tried chopping out the base with the dieing tissue but the new frags just kept on receding from their new bases. I guess I haven't taken pictures of these...

Here are some others that are doing well or on their way back.

The little single polyp that i set up on a Tonga branch end has kept on growing. The Oregon tort continues to base out and is starting to branch out.

Picked up a gmk that has a new baby polyp already!

The corals i picked up from Isaac are loving life with a lot of polyp extension.

I picked up this unknown coral, cut it into a few pieces and the cuts are starting to heal. It is doing well and showing some of the undertones that it has in the pictures posted from when I purchased it but still needs a bit to go. The frag in the container went off to a fellow WAMAS member.

Is that a torch on the lower right?  In any case your tank will certainly have green covered when things grow in.... what color's next?

No torch, that's a rock that fell off the hard scape, its a piece of Tonga branch. I would like to find something orange. I need the acid trip frags to find their coloring. The Pink Floyd is a really cool yellow with red tips that has to just grow. I have the redish with that unknown (I've had someone tell me it's a dippin dots or princess peach) the JF Fox flame isn't looking that great but that is reddish too.  The Oregon tort and Cali tort and then the aqua stag are representing the blue spectrum. The cookie monster and the  northern crush is the purple. Let's see if and how things grow in now!
