TonyInVa March 2, 2021 Share March 2, 2021 Better to buy to ULR or LR Hanna Phosphate Checker? I am having ultra low nutrients and need to start doing nitrates and phosphates, so I want to buy the phosphate checker, but not sure which one. jhOU March 2, 2021 Share March 2, 2021 Definitely get the ULR, but then you still have to choose between the ULR phosphate or phosphorus. I use the ULR phosphorus, it has higher resolution measuring in parts per billion, but does require math for conversion (I just use apex log to convert it). The ULR phosphate measures parts per million, lower resolution but doesn’t need conversion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Origami March 3, 2021 Share March 3, 2021 Tony, if you're interested, I made look up tables for the ULR phosphorus and alkalinity checkers years ago. They're sized so that they can be taped inside the lid of the checker case and can be downloaded here.
WheresTheReef March 3, 2021 Share March 3, 2021 Conversion of the ULR phosphorus in pbb to phosphate in ppm is found by multiplying the reading by 0.003066. For example a reading of 7ppb phosphorus = 0.021462 ppm of phosphate. Tom’s LUT looks to be pretty handy.
