inedukated September 15, 2006 September 15, 2006 Hello all, This question is pretty simple. I have a 55gal tank, and I want to know if it's ok to remove that plastic cross-bar on top of the tank. It doesn't seem to support the tank in any way, it just gets in my way when I'm cleaning/feeding/breaking stuff. Thanks -ben

It keeps the long sides together and when filled, it will flex outward and stress the seams.
jason the filter freak September 15, 2006 September 15, 2006 Mine has been removed when I got it from phsysis79 (however you spell the BB name) he said it was cool not to have em, I haven't seen any problems as of yet
extreme_tooth_decay September 15, 2006 September 15, 2006 don't remove it whatever you do. I had one once with the crossbar broken, it bowed out very noticably when I was filling the tank the first time. I got rid of it before filling the tank all the way
