Hello all,

This question is pretty simple. I have a 55gal tank, and I want to know if it's ok to remove that plastic cross-bar on top of the tank. It doesn't seem to support the tank in any way, it just gets in my way when I'm cleaning/feeding/breaking stuff.

Thanks

Simple answer->NO. It is required! It keeps the long sides together and when filled, it will flex outward and stress the seams.

Mine has been removed when I got it from phsysis79 (however you spell the BB name) he said it was cool not to have em, I haven't seen any problems as of yet

don't remove it whatever you do.

I had one once with the crossbar broken, it bowed out very noticably when I was

filling the tank the first time. I got rid of it before filling the tank all the way
