treesprite September 13, 2020 Share September 13, 2020 Would you buy a phone just for a better phone camera if your phone is what you use to take tank pics? I have to buy a new phone, and my service provider has two models with 48 mp cameras, and an additional macro feature. I thought nowadays phone cameras only went up to 16 mp, which is what I have. The 16 mp camera is okay for most tank pics that aren't close up, but too close means blurry.

lynn.reef.nerd September 13, 2020 Share September 13, 2020 I upgraded to the s20 for that purpose. I couldn't justify getting a dslr at the moment when the phone can do much more than taking pictures. That said, a phone can never rival a GOOD dslr with the right lens. If you just want better pictures but not seeking professional quality, upgrading phones is not a bad choice. WheresTheReef September 13, 2020 Share September 13, 2020 You really don’t need a higher MP camera just for the aquarium unless you are printing large images. Especially if the issue is with closeups. You can buy a clip on accessory that comes with filters and a macro lens. I have the one linked below and it works well. https://www.amazon.com/Reefing-Art-Professional-Photography-Aquarium/dp/B07TRXTPSG
