You can get the same bits that BRK sells on ebay cheap

 

You need a 60mm bit for a 1.5" bulkhead and a 40mm for a 1" bulkhead.

I drilled the side of a 55g a few weeks ago and the glass WAS tempered. I was prepared to replace the glass if it shattered (which it did) though, so no big issue. Check with the manufacturer before drilling.

I got my tank from psyis79 and I have no idea whom it's made by... now I'm nervous, I cant afford to replace it.
