Guest mmcaleer June 21, 2004 June 21, 2004 I had a new bubble tip anemone that was moving around the tank. This morning I could not find him, I looked everywhere. I found a few pieces in my skimmer eventually. He climbed over the overflow and into the sump where he was sucked into the pump hooked to my skimmer. Not a pretty sight. I guess i'm looking for a new anemone for my percula. Mike :(
traveller7 June 21, 2004 June 21, 2004 ....and looking for some plastic screening material to cover your overflow to protect the next one. Not knowing your setup, some plastic gutter screen may do the job for you.
Guest mmcaleer June 21, 2004 June 21, 2004 I just ordered it. I have two 1 1/2" pvc overflows that go through two bulkheads in the back of the tank. I just ordered two strainers for them. Should have done it earlier. Mike
Caribbean Jake June 24, 2004 June 24, 2004 don't feel bad, I took off the covers on my power head and found one of my fish was sucked up by the power head next morning. I kick my behind for it all day that day... we live and learn. Jacob
Grav June 24, 2004 June 24, 2004 Mike, I have a BTA that split and I don't have room for two so one needs a new home. It's listed in the for-sale section. I NEARLY lost her (before the split) to a HOB- filter intake, thought she was dead for sure for a while there. KINDA know how you feel. Make me an offer. Phil
Guest mmcaleer June 25, 2004 June 25, 2004 I put my strainers on last night. No more accidents. I also added a new MRC MR-2 Skimmer. Works great! Mike
