hard to reach aiptasia

I got couple in my tank in a hard reaching place.  I normally use needle to inject them with vinegar but this time they are too hard to reach.  Any suggestions?

Use kalk paste- you only need to feed it to them with a bulb dropper.  I have been able to get them to eat it in difficult places.  Turn off pumps until the chow down.

Stupid aptasia!

Of course the son of a guns eventually return.  Unfortunately I believe my big momma clown likes eating peppermints now.  The last 2 batches disapeared except for 1 which is big.  Shrimp form the same time in other tanks are fine.

Michael,

What is a bulb dropper?  Can you describe in detail how to mix the kalk paste and how to feed them?  I injected them with kalk. solution with no success.

I make a paste of kalk and stop-aptasia.  I use the sailfert measuring thing without the pointy end piece to drop little balls of the paste right into their mouths.  The ones standing strait-up are obviously easier.  When the ball hits their mouth, they close-up and injest before they know what they ate.

I have these disposable jobbies that I use.  An eye dropper would work fine as well- or a syrninge with the end open as larry mentioned.  ditto what larry said on getting them.  mix some kalk with some fresh water, stir.  draw up from the bottom.  You don't need to make much at a time.  You want to feed them the poison.  The natural reaction they have is to try to eat the food that falls their way.  I usually get a chuckle out of it :)  I keep a turkey baster handy in the event that some of the paste lands on a coral- it will burn them as well.  When successful, you will see them melt down from their holes in a couple of minutes.

The kalk. paste works quite well. Thanks.  There are still some small one which are hard to drop.  But I killed most of the big one last night.  Probabley still need some peppermint shrimps.  Jeff's Exotic fish sells 5 for $9.99.

Since I added 5 peppermint shrimp to my 90G system, I've not seen aiptasia again.  They do a great job of eradicating it.  Hard to reach places are not their problem...  :D
