Guest Lles July 24, 2006 July 24, 2006 Hello all, The wife and I are getting back into keeping reef tanks(we lost our first tank when Isebell hit almost two years ago) and could use abit of local advice. We have a 90 gallon tank with 30 gallon sump/fuge and are now trying to get enough LR to fill the beast. We got about 50lbs this weekend, mostly from Ken at Totally Fish at a great price. Problem is, he mostly only has base rock and i'm looking for a local place with some good show piece quality LR for sell. Any suggestions? BTW we live in Hyattsville MD and we are willing to drive up to a hour+ to VA or Baltimore if need be.

John Nice but man, BRK is a good little hike for us in PG county! Guess we need to whip out the gas card and take a drive! Is The Reef Tank still around? Use to be one of our favorite stores in VA could maybe do a twofer and see BRK and The Reef tank all in one trip.

Leishman July 24, 2006 July 24, 2006 How does Totally Fish's SW stock look? I have not been out there since they moved.
Guest Lles July 24, 2006 July 24, 2006 How does Totally Fish's SW stock look? I have not been out there since they moved. This was my first time to their new location as well. His SW set up is almost a mirror image of his other store, maybe abit bigger. I think that while we were there they were working on some kind of problem with the AC units as they had set up alot of fans to help control the temp. His fish for the most part looked great. He must of got a great deal on a bulk order of yellow tangs most small to medium size as i've never seen that many in one LFS before. They all looked pretty healthy with a few of them even picking at some algae growth on powerheads etc. His reef tank was filled with alot of LPS's almost everything was open with their polyps out. He had a a few frogspawns that caught my eye and if and when my tank ever get's ready i'll be heading to pick up one. Suprised he had 3ish Elegance corals tho. Was hoping he'd have a few more softies and zoo's.
Caribbean Jake July 24, 2006 July 24, 2006 BRK has rocks and you can get some discounts for being a WAMAS member, the other guys out there may not give you discounts.
rooroo July 24, 2006 July 24, 2006 For some nice live rock, House of Tropicals in Glen Burnie, MD has some good stuff, but very pricey. Some of their stuff is cured, some is not, but it may be worth the trip out there to check it out. They have 3 rubbermaid troughs full of live rock, you can dig in and get your own.
