D805 August 16, 2018 August 16, 2018 So I'm running the AquaticLife fixture with my 2 AI Hydra 26 HD fixtures and Blue+/Actinic front and Coral+/Blue+ rear over my Red Sea 260. Currently my LED Schedule is 11-9 with an hour ramp up and down. Front T5s come on at 1 and are off at 7. Rear T5s come on at 2 and off at 6. My question for everyone running a hybrid fixture, what kind of schedule are you running your T5s at? Is the schedule I'm running good or not? I'm new to hybrid lighting. Thanks, Juan
madweazl August 16, 2018 August 16, 2018 (edited) What were you running prior to this? If things were looking good, re-create the schedule as best you can. I run a 12 hour photo-period; the LEDs ramp up for two hours before all four T5s turn on then the LEDs ramp back down to off for another two hours. Kessils ramp from 0% color to 60% (might be 65%) for two hours (10am-12pm) and the intensity ramps from 0% to max (currently 20% I believe) over six hours (10am-4pm). Color drops back down from 60% to 0% (8pm-10pm). Since finding the eroding magnet, I'll like bring the intensity back up considerably (60-80% range) over the next couple months. An article covering daily light integral that may be helpful in finding a solution. Edited August 16, 2018 by madweazl

I added the T5s about 2 months ago and everything seems to be doing great. The only thing I've noticed is that the tips on the Purple slime have turned green. Other than that everything seems pretty happy. So you're running your T5s for 10 hours?
madweazl August 16, 2018 August 16, 2018 (edited) T5s for eight hours and the LEDs for 12. The LEDs come on two hours before and stay on two hours after the T5 turn off. My decision to do so wasn't based off of anything other than what I'd done in the past. Like my previous statement, I'd keep it close to the PAR levels you had prior and gradually change. With that said, if you've been running it this way for two months without adverse affects, you're probably fine. One thing I will add; if the corals were looking good before and are showing some green now, you may be low in regard to PAR. This could also be a reaction to change in spectrum from the lights though. Have you borrowed the clubs PAR meter yet? Great tool when you're swapping lights. Edited August 16, 2018 by madweazl
GOSKN5 August 16, 2018 August 16, 2018 My lighting schedule is probably very unique, but I want to share anyway I run 2 T5 bulbs that are overdriven with an icecap ballast along with 2 Mars aqua style black box leds. Tank is a 120 and lights are about 12" above the waterline. My LEDs run at 40% blues ONLY from 10am until 9:30pm. My T5s are only on from 3pm until 7:30pm. I dont run the whites and run the T5s very limited amount... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
D805 August 16, 2018 Author August 16, 2018 darn math for Marines. lol I have the seneye meter and if I remember correctly(really need to write the PAR measurements down next time I take a reading) the slimer is sitting at around 260 PAR. My LEDs are at 60% at peak so have some room to get some more PAR. AI by Juan, on Flickr
