Stephen May 27, 2018 Share May 27, 2018 Upgrading the 65 gallon tank I set up late last summer with a brand new Marineland 120 gallon reef ready display as well as a new Deep Blue Pro 30 gallon rimless frag tank. Plan to use the same equipment on the 120 and 30 that I can but I'll have to upgrade the lighting for the display as well as the skimmer. Here's everything sitting in the room that's being remodeled that it will go in. It'll take a few weeks at least before I can get started on it but hope to start the stand over the holiday. Stephen June 5, 2018 Author Share June 5, 2018 I got started on the stand today after work. Only had a couple of hours until I ran out of 2x6's and screws but I got the top half way done. I probably had enough until I decided to overbuild things. Back to the lumber store bright and early before work for a few more 2x6's and more screws. Stephen June 7, 2018 Author Share June 7, 2018 Have the stand all framed up. Next step is to get the ply wood cut and shelf built. After that it's getting moved inside to finish the top where tanks will sit. Stand is 96"Lx42"Hx32"W.
Stephen July 6, 2018 Author Share July 6, 2018 I picked up a couple of more pieces for the setup. Working lots of hours so I haven't had much time to set anything up. TrueTricia July 12, 2018 Share July 12, 2018 Stephen, did you work off a particular plan for your stand build? The stand looks great so far as frame!
Stephen July 12, 2018 Author Share July 12, 2018 No. I decided size and where I wanted everything placed then got to building.
Stephen July 23, 2018 Author Share July 23, 2018 Just ordered the last few pieces of the puzzle tonight. Got the stand moved inside and plan to put the first coat of polyshade on the top of the stand tonight before bed. If everything goes well I'll get everything taken down from the old system and set up the new one this weekend.

Stephen August 14, 2018 Author Share August 14, 2018 Tank has been up and running for about a week. I still have some things to hook up but the necessities are all running. Photos coming soon.
Stephen August 16, 2018 Author Share August 16, 2018 Finally happy with the rock. Placed a couple corals and gorgonians. Most will stay in frag tank until it goes through whatever sort of cycle it will go through. Had to add some more live rock and dry rock. Hoping to find a couple of pieces of branch rock somewhere but if not I'll be content I think with it as it is.
Stephen August 20, 2018 Author Share August 20, 2018 (edited) Have everything done except building a frag rack, skinning the stand, and cleaning up. All the fish are out of the holding tank except for a yellow tang, six line wrasse, a peppermint shrimp and some snails and crabs. I want a couple of tangs and I want the others settled before I add the yellow to the display as he's a bit of a p#*!k. I'll slowly transfer the coral I want in the display over from the frag tank in a few weeks. Here's a few blue light shots I got while doing a water change and picking up. Stephen September 24, 2018 Author Share September 24, 2018 The tank is coming along pretty well. I have added some corals, gorgonians, and inverts as well as have all of the fish besides a couple new additions in QT. The coralline algae is filling in nicely since the last shot. Once the coralline covers everything it won't matter but after installing some of this nice black background material I had to a future shrimp tank for my girlfriend today I'm kicking myself for not putting it on the display and frag tank. Stephen April 16, 2020 Author Share April 16, 2020 (edited) Updated shots of tanks today. The display was rearranged after the move and recently the frag tank has become a lagoon tank. Some equipment upgrades were made and I also added a Aquafuge MP Medium that's plumbed into the sump I have on a reverse cycle of display lights that I am growing caulerpa in.
