reeferCub November 19, 2017 Share November 19, 2017 Hi,I am thinking of setting up a refugium to grow chaetomorpha. I have a spare Kessil A 160WE Tuna Blue bulb. The lowest spectrum on it is 10K i believe Can I use this bulb at it's most white setting to grow chaetomorpha. Or would be right to buy one of those red colored lights for refugium? If this is not the right forum to ask this question, mods please feel free to move it to the right one.Tank info: RedSea reefer 170, mixed reef tank. madweazl November 19, 2017 Share November 19, 2017 It will grow but perhaps not as quickly as something closer to 6500k.
Mattb1612 November 19, 2017 Share November 19, 2017 I just watched this yesterday. Very interesting. Honestly I believe any light will work as long as the nutrients are there. https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/video/view/brstv-investigates-what-is-the-best-refugium-light-and-what-is-coming-next/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
gmerek2 November 19, 2017 Share November 19, 2017 Maybe to get it started but I feel it’s too expensive. just go to Lowe’s and buy a 6500ish light bulb

If it does not work, I will buy one of those cheap grow lights.

KingOfAll_Tyrants November 28, 2017 Share November 28, 2017 I'd think the spectrum is wrong, but I'd be curious about your results.
