  1. Yea that’s a thought. Here is the one rock where it all began Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thank you everyone. I started on thread that sublime posted and then started researching https://maxdraco.wordpress.com/2013/03/14/fenbendazole-eliminate-invasive-soft-corals-blue-cloves-polyps-xenia-aiptasia-hydriods-etc/. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. @sublime the issue with dosing goat-dewormer is I have zoas, frogspawn and other softies [emoji3525]. I don’t know if I can raise the tank temperature high enough to kill them. I’ve had the tank between 78-80. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hey everyone, thank you in advance. So I’m approaching the 2 year mark on my tank and all corals are doing well. I made a mistake when I started though one of my rocks had small piece Xenia and I dremeled it off and thought I was ok. Well I didn’t get it all and as you can figure it has taken over my tank. I’ve tried pulling Xenia out and made progress then small pieces got lose and now I have a tank full Xenia LOL. I tried taking all the rock out and dremeling it and still no luck. I’m out of options. So I have a thought 1: I take all the rock out and replace it with dry rock 2: I’ve heard of this reef rock that has spores biological material making it mature faster 3: mature Marco rock in brute with a heater, powerhead and frits turbo start and wait 2 months. What’s everyone thoughts and ideas I appreciate it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hey everyone, I’m trying to access the sales forum and every time I click on a sales ad it sends me this error (see picture below). My issue is I believe I already paid for my membership if it expired where do I sign up for a new one or see when mine expires. Any help is appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hey everyone. So I went ordered a box of reef crystals from Blue ribbon koi and i checked the bags and they all looked good. 1 month later while after mixing up my salts I went back to use my last bag and it was yellow. I know this means it’s defective but has anyone used it the yellow bags with any side effects ? Just curious thank you I’m advanced Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I appreciate the help. My plan is to take the skimmer apart again and cleaning it, make a 1 inch riser putting it at 6 1/2 inches up and see what happens thanks again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. So I have very low nutrients at 0 nitrate and .04 phosphates. I’ve run acropower for 1 year and my acros are doing well. I’m dosing fuel and abcd for trace elements. I dose 10ml acro and 10 ml fuel, 1.5 Potassium, iron and bioelements and 1 ml of iodine. So far no crazy algae would you recommend carbon. This dosing methode is off of fish of hex. 10. Hey Wamas, I figured I would try here. So I’m having an issue with my skimmer. It’s been running fine for two years but now I’ve switched salts and I’ve started dosing: Red Sea abcd, aquavitro fuel and acropower. I dose everything half of what the recommendations are. My skimmer now is overflowing like crazy so I’ve let it just run for the past week and did a large 30 gallon water change on my 180. I’ve opened the skimmer fully up and still no luck. Any advise should I start running carbon, raise the skimmer idk.... any help greatly appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Hey sublime, I currently run two part. I’m dosing esv and then I dose acro power. I do 20 gallon water change every week as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I agree dfr. I might add 4 retro fit kits and see how that works. So update on tank parameters alk 7.8 cal 454 mag 1485 nitrates 0 (tested with Red Sea) phosphates .04 (tested with Red Sea) So another thought what about dosing trace elements like Red Sea abcd dosing. Or do I buy a calcium reactor ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. So vary the height it will give it different contrast. Also look at Stone fix and see about making some arches and passage ways I’ve seen some really cool aqua scapes lately. Lu who won tank of the month has a really cool aqua scape. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Update I have increased dosing of esv alk to 1ml to get it back to that 8dkh range. I have order Red Sea algae test kit will be here Tuesday . I’ve also order Red Sea nopox large bottle to dose if needed as well. I started runnning chemipure blue last night. At this point though i feel I’m guessing it’s nitrates phosphates without any proof you know. The rocks look good and yea my sand bed has a sprinkling of cyano which might be the cause. I guess I’ve just never had terrible algae issues so I never thought it could be no3 po4 issue. Anyways all things to consider appreciate the advice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Hey DFR, I have contemplated that a lot. The issue is he is only the 2-3 inch and he wedges him self in the worst rock in the world. So its impossible to get him out. On lighter news I did shut off the carbon and placed a grounding probe in the tank and I think it’s helping. I run Marineland carbon and I’ve switched over to chemipure blue. So we shall see. He seems to be improving but only time shall tell. I will give him a month and if he doesn’t improve I will have to take this 30 pound massive rock out and chisels him out I guess. Anyways thank you all for the help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. So I ordered the Red Sea phos/ nitrate test. Now I’m really interested in my phos/nitrates. I’ve always view visual ques as an issue but I don’t ever seem to have anything super concerning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. You know I’ve never really tested that. What test kits do you recommend? I’ve just always judged high nutrients off of algae growth and I don’t have anything crazy. I do have some algae on glass my rocks look pretty clean. I did have some diatoms but an increase flow fixed that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I’m currently running 180 gallon reef tank with 3 ocean revive lights. I’m getting good coverage and I’m starting to look at new lighting. I started on beginner sps and this was my toe in water approach. I’m now thinking of going into higher end corals. I’m wondering 2 questions: Is it worth it to switch? My main issues are shadowing, color is kind of poor on some of my sps even though polyps extension is good and coral growth seems relatively good. I just increase flow and started ramping mode on 2 mp40 and adding third to the back of the tank. My main ideas for switch are 3 options: 1: 60 inch ati 6 bulb light with reef brite antic supplement 2: aquatic life 61 inch light with either hydra 36hd or Radion 15 pro 3: keep the ocean revives and use retrofit kit If anyone has any other thoughts or advice appreciate it. 20. I watch the tank closely and I haven’t seen any bullying maybe the yellow tang possible but the purple tang I have is the size of quarter same size as the blue and he has no issues. I feed pe mysis and rods food everyday with 1 sheet of seaweed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Sounds good remove carbon any other things to help him recover. Seaweed brands selcon? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Yea I think I’m going with either stray voltage or carbon or both Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I run carbon and I have glass heaters. I ordered a grounding probe. The weird thing is it’s only hippo, the yellow and the purple are fine. I thought maybe parisite but it’s been two years almost. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I’ll send better pictures tomorrow with the whites on. He just doesn’t grow and has markings. I feed nori once to twice a week along with other variants of algae. There is a bigger yellow tang however he eats and then leaves once he’s full. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
