jhOU July 13, 2017 July 13, 2017 Hi all! I'm new here, I've had freshwater tanks for years, and I am planning my first saltwater. I'm looking at getting a 120 gallon SCA tank. Package includes tank(Starfire glass), stand, canopy, sump, skimmer, and return pump for around $2000 shipped. I know the skimmer and pump are not the greatest, and I will likely only keep as backups. Any opinions of SCA tanks? They seem to get fairly good reviews in my research. Are there any local shops that offer comparable pricing on larger tanks? Where does everyone get their tanks? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bruleyii July 13, 2017 July 13, 2017 Artfully Acrylic builds tanks out of Manassas. I don't what's local for you but that's doable for most.
Ben A July 13, 2017 July 13, 2017 I would highly consider a used tank off of the forum. A lot of people buy and sell high quality tanks in the "for sale" forum. You can save a lot of money from buying brand new. Below is just one of the tanks currently for sale by WAMAS members. http://wamas.org/forums/topic/81739-156-oceanic-5x2x2-and-stand/

jhOU July 13, 2017 Author July 13, 2017 I'm in Alexandria. I know used is the best bang for the buck. But I really like the rimless/eurobraced tanks, and haven't come across any 120-150 that I liked. I'm keeping an eye out though! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

gioNVA July 13, 2017 July 13, 2017 I have an SCA 75g rimless. Their quality is really good for the price. Starphire glass with beveled edges and the silicone work was good. The overflow was also well built but if I had to do it again, I would probably order the tank from them and have it custom drilled for a shadow overflow. They usually have the tanks on special so you can wait for that. Also, if you send an email to SCA, they will usually negotiate on the price. You can probably get an extra 10 to 15% off on the price. I didn't get their sump but the skimmers are actually pretty good. The only issues I've heard about their stuff is the quality of the stand but I know a few folks who have them and have no issues.
