EricBrian June 14, 2006 June 14, 2006 Anybody know where I can get acrylic safe Mag-Floats around here? Thanks. Eric
dchild June 14, 2006 June 14, 2006 I got mine a month or so ago and couldn't find them locally - I think you'll have to special order or buy online. Let me say though that I am not happy with mine. The mag floats come in 4 models, priced like: $10, $12, $20, $110. So I got the $20 one, which it said should be good for my 125. I'm telling you, this thing cleans only the most superficial of algae. I have used glass mag floats in the past and liked them, so I don't know if it the acrylic-safe surface or if my tank is just a little too thick or what. I recommend getting at least one size bigger than you need (unfortunately, the $110 model is a bit of a jump from the $20). I also highly recommend a long acrylic-safe scraper, I've used and liked both kent pro scraper and the magical cleaner rod
kngfisher June 15, 2006 June 15, 2006 how about cleaning the outside, what is safe to use? I am looking at the Aquatic Aide "Cornermag": magnet cleaner for glass/acrylic. Add says Will move around corners inside tanks. Built in scraper for coraline algae. 2" x 3" anyone used one?
