My protein skimmer stinks up my basement......need help

I installed a sro external 5000 skimmer to my system and it is a beast.....the problem is that it is stinking up my basement. I run the output of the skimmer through an avast collection system that has carbon at the output but it is not enough.....any recommendations? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it the actual skimmer that smells awful or the skimmate locker? When I installed a swabbie my skimmer didn't smell as bad because it was always clean

I believe it to be the air coming from the locker post skimmer. Both skimmer and locker are new and clean......

Tape the holes of the skimmer lid shut.  The air from the locker can drift back up through the drain hose and out the lid.  I like kalkwasser too like John mentioned, but throw it in your locker instead (a teaspoon every time you empty it is plenty).
