so I had a decent day at the casino yesterday won a little money and decided to order the Marsaqua 300w led light it says its good for a 36x24 spread which is fine I have a 40 gallon breeder which is 36x18 so no problem there. So my question is how much should I dim them to begin with as to not bleach out my corals?

It depends on what type of lighting you have now.  When I went from 3 400W metal halides to 6 150 watt evergrow-style lights I started with the white channel on 30% and the blue on 70%.  If you don't already have them, LEDs can have the appearance of being dimmer than they actually are.  Starting out low and working your way up while carefully observing your coral is the way to go.  I did bleach a few acros, but they quickly recovered after dimming certain lights more and ramping them back up gradually.  Most of your soft or LPS type coral might stay closed for a few days until they become acclimated to the different light.

i currently have a 4x39w t5 over it with 2ati true actinics 1 coral+ and 1 purple+ and led moonlights

Then you will need to dim way down. Ati actinics put out hardly any PAR

also how long should it take to aclimate to the new lights?

A few weeks. Just raise it a few percentages like 5 or 10% a week. You won't need much in the way of overall intensity anyway I would think no more than 40 or 50% MAX on a 300w fixture

I was thinking of purchasing the same light to replace my older D120 evergrow that the blue channel went out on over my 65g.  Let me know what you think of the light.

I have 2 of these over my 125 mixed reef.  I barely have them on and they are super bright.  It's hard to tell because they are just dials, but I may have the blues at 25% and white at 10% I started turning them up and had some SPS bleach. They are about 10" above the tank
