Formerly Freshwater April 3, 2016 Share April 3, 2016 (edited) Hey everyone! I'm looking to frag these Green Nepthea in my tank and was wondering if any of you would be willing to help me out. I've never propagated my own coral before! These are stuck to the main display rock, and removing them from the tank is impossible, so I need a way to cut them cleanly and sterilize the wounds in the tank. I have 10 plugs ready to go, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to attach them to said plugs as well. I know many of you have way nicer corals, but I'd be willing to donate a few of the frags to some helpers! -Matt -LGV10, no filters or optics Edited April 3, 2016 by Formerly Freshwater
khh27 April 3, 2016 Share April 3, 2016 (edited) Lots of carbon and rubber bands to hold them on Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Edited April 3, 2016 by khh27
khh27 April 3, 2016 Share April 3, 2016 Also I would get a large peice off first then frag off of that out of tank so that way it's only one cut spewing toxins and not multiple. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
sethsolomon April 3, 2016 Share April 3, 2016 take scissors and just lob off an arm and rubber band it to a rock. That's all there is to fragging leathers.

Nice clean cut. I've done it a lot with no side effects

Jason Rhoads April 5, 2016 Share April 5, 2016 +3 You are in luck because leathers are one of the easiest corals to frag. Grab a blade and get after it! Sent using my Windows Phone.
Reefer_Madness April 5, 2016 Share April 5, 2016 Carbon is a good idea. I've never fragged leathers, but I've heard they can spew out some toxic stuff. A mesh bag full of carbon would help.
