Saw this creature today sticking out of my substrate. It's appeared to be grazing on sand/algae.

I searched online and closet one I found is peanut worm. however, this thing has a bigger and rounder head than peanut worm. Any idea what this is?

Looks like an eye behind it.  Another vote for conch.  Unless you don't have one, then it's something else.

he's sure fooled me for the last hour and finally came out of the sand. 

Conch for sure. Haha. Or a buried elephant. Looks like a trunk.

 

I think im going with underwater elephant

Or Loch Ness. Those two are hard the distinguish.
