Sad Panda January 28, 2016 January 28, 2016 Ok what should one use to test for stray voltage. When I do a web search it shows voltage detectors at lowes but do those work in water? Never had a need for one of these before so not sure what to use. I know this questions is probably worse than my others.
YHSublime January 28, 2016 January 28, 2016 Just get a voltage meter at your local hardware store. Don't use your tongue. I got zapped pretty bad by an old motor on an skimmer.
Sad Panda January 28, 2016 Author January 28, 2016 yeah all my snails just died and I read that they are very susceptible to stray current. Tongue is last resort.

Sad Panda January 28, 2016 Author January 28, 2016 All the readings are good. Once when I put my finger tips in I got a "tingle" but not sure if it was from the temperature change when I touched the water or not. Just want to be sure. I have two cheap petsmart power heads in it and figured....maybe. For my new tank I have hydor pumps still in the shipping box. Gonna start a tank/stand build thread tonight.
Sad Panda January 28, 2016 Author January 28, 2016 Ok shows no voltage in the tank or sump. So that's good.
YHSublime January 29, 2016 January 29, 2016 All the readings are good. What are they? Inverts are sensitive to a lot, salinity, ph, temps, are you tracking the above regularly? It's possible there are not enough nutrients. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jason Rhoads January 29, 2016 January 29, 2016 How old is the tank? I am with Isaac in wanting to know what the actual measurements are.
