AlanM December 17, 2015 December 17, 2015 It looks really nice, but weren't there tons of problems about Vertex plastic stuff leaking? I'm thinking of the notorious dosing vessels that everyone and their mother had to send back multiple times. I bet it would be great for the first little bit, until you have to pull out the skimmer to repair or clean, or you wanted to rescue that fish that went down the overflow, or you wanted to replace the media in the reactor or whatever, and then such a tight sump is not going to be easy to use. Also, if any system I've run is any indication, in 2 months it will be so full of detritus, tubeworms, and sponges, that the "clean" design will be forever soiled. 8)
Reefer_Madness December 17, 2015 Author December 17, 2015 I don't know. I think they may have fixed those problems. I had a Vertex 130 for a while and loved it. It is a very tight sump like you said and we all know it ain't going to look that pretty for long. I'm sure maintenance guys will love that sump. It will need to be cleaned all the time to make it look good.
Reefer_Madness December 17, 2015 Author December 17, 2015 I wonder how you are going to get to the screw heads that are on the left......up next to the front acrylic....
zygote2k December 18, 2015 December 18, 2015 why adjustable weirs? it uses all of their stuff that works at a prescribed water level. Maintenance guys hate it when you cram 10 gadgets in a space made for 3. Keep it simple and it works much better. I can design a more practical sump....
