DBL September 7, 2015 September 7, 2015 Hey everyone, one of my anthias was been a bully to the rest of my anthias, I caught him in my fish trap (also my acclimation box) how long do you guys think I can keep him there? I was thinking a day or two but I'm not sure if that is too long. I've also thought of putting him in my sump but with constant flow and nowhere to rest or hide I don't know if thats a good idea. What do you guys think? any suggestion? Thanks a lot in advance.
Coral Hind September 7, 2015 September 7, 2015 I don't know which design you have so I have to ask, are there holes to let water flow in and out of the acclimation box? If there is water exchanging then it can stay in there for weeks if it is not too small for the fish. If it is sealed then I would make sure to change the water out several times a day. What are your plans for the anthias? In a group of anthias you will always have dominate males and larger females keeping the hierarchy of the group in place.

I had only one anthias and I added 6 more and the one first one I had was chasing everyone, I just want the recently added anthias to acclimate to the tank without been chase around.

Coral Hind September 7, 2015 September 7, 2015 Just make sure he is safe from pump intakes. I would leave him in the sump for a week or two until the others are settled in.
