AlanM March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 Colin's talk was right about the dredging and the staghorn coral present around there. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/08/us/despite-protections-miami-port-project-smothers-coral-reef-in-silt.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&module=photo-spot-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news&_r=
Keraxis March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 This is not news. This is actually a cover up. Ive been following this closely. Colin said time and time again that there were unique hybrids he wanted to save and was denied. They said the silt catchers would save them. They later admitted the protections do not work yet they never put new protections in place. So they were told they would kill the corals. Denied permits to collect on any area that wasn't going to be blasted. (Green stag hybrid was 100 feet from the blast area) This is the worst case situation and why I have trouble believing the simplest thing the government says. The article also continues on with this lie. They say the tax payer is on the hook... no amount of money can bring back an extinct new species.
