JMsAquarium March 24, 2006 March 24, 2006 Ok, cool. How about this one? http://www.aquaticreefsystem.com/store/car...category_id=248 Do you think it would do? Buying distilled water is going to get expensive fast, so I want to get this soon. Also, can somebody offer me a part time job to pay for all of this? LOL Sounds like a good unit. Also for the same price, you gan get this one, 5 stage instead of 4, and 75gpd. http://www.airwaterice.com/product/1TYPHOON I have this one below with the 100gpd membrane, for a few bucks more. Very happy with and great customer service. http://www.airwaterice.com/product/1TYPHOONIII
Caribbean Jake March 24, 2006 March 24, 2006 JM That is the one I have, and after the membrane issue, the unit is putting out 75GPD without any problem. It is great and cheap. I recommend it. Jacob

Jacob Me too, I recommend it as well. I am very pleased with my Typhoon III. I have it for the last 3 years and it works perfectly. The only problem is the water pressure in my house, nothing to do with the RO unit. A couple of months ago, the plumber came to fix a problem and we tested the pressure and it was low, so we went to a couple of neighbors and we all get the same low readings. So nothing to do with the unit. I might consider buying a booster pump one of these days. That is if I can convince my wife that I really really really need it
EricBrian March 24, 2006 Author March 24, 2006 That looks like this one: http://www.melevsreef.com/ro_di.html When I searched Google for "RO/DI," that link was pretty high up there.
JMsAquarium March 24, 2006 March 24, 2006 Yes, it's a good unit as well. Like I said previously, what matters are the quality of the filters and membranes. And almost all the unit manufacturers use the same sources. so the differences in prices for comparable units are the unit brand name .
EricBrian March 24, 2006 Author March 24, 2006 Cool. I ordered the RO/DI device today and a pH meter too. Today I got my refractor and, man, I am so glad I bought it. It makes things soooooo easy. I threw my hydrometer away. LOL

LOL I have the 24gl aquapod and I buy RO water from safeway for water changes. They label it as Purified water, and in the fine print as reverse osmosis, they would do better to make that clearer.
EricBrian April 6, 2006 Author April 6, 2006 I bought a RO/DI device. I just have to install it... and I will one of these days! LOL
