I know the 40G doesn't have a tempered bottom.

sides are not tempered either on the 40B, not sure about the front and back

Bought a 40B for a QT today and a 20L for my outside fish (container pond) to spend the winter inside in.

I picked up a 40B today. It has a sticker that says the bottom is tempered, do not drill

If I'm not mistaken, the Aqueon brand 40B is non-tempered vs the Tetra brand which is tempered.

Yep. Tempered bottom panel on these. Picked up my 40b Sunday afternoon, drilled the back and ready to plumb 30 minutes later.
