jacobB89 November 8, 2014 November 8, 2014 I got a second gen dc12000 and the controller was spaced and had ventalation in the back but I noticed it was hot tonight so I unscrewed the controller box and the fan is barely spinning. Inhabe no.other choice then to let it run the tank for time being. Pumps less then a year old. I got it from salty supply but they are closed over the weekend so no luck there. Is there a number for waveline or should I go through salty supply either way I guess I'm kinda S.O.L until Monday. Always something for me....
DCReefer1964 November 8, 2014 November 8, 2014 Send Eddie at Waveline a direct email. Maybe your LFS could hep as well. Giving you a loaner until Waveline takes care of you.

smallreef November 10, 2014 November 10, 2014 And if you put a fan on it, and use feed mode every few hours, keeps it from getting toooo hot... Mine did the same, it's just the controller, the new ones have a much larger heat sink with no dinky fan... You may want to take a picture of you're controller ends for when you email them , there are 2 different versions, but if you have a second gen you may have the new one...atleast I'd assume so...I had the older, so my pump and controller had to be swapped..
Paulcosta November 10, 2014 November 10, 2014 I had the same problem but the fan completely stopped working. i called waveline directly and they sent me a new controller. the new controller was much bigger with a larger heatsink. i have had no issues with the new controller
Jim Mc November 11, 2014 November 11, 2014 I got great customer support from them. Mine was 11 months old when it crapped out. They sent me a brand new one. They will require proof of purchase with a date. If things don't work out for you let me know. The one they sent me is still sitting in the box.
