six-line June 9, 2014 June 9, 2014 Hi all I'm looking to purchase two new pumps for my tank, 225(6'x30"x24") it's going to be mostly SPS corals. I want as little hardware in the tank as I can get away with. Which model pump would you go with? I'm leaning towards the wp-60s. Anyone have any good/bad experience with these pumps? Thanks.
Crob5965 June 9, 2014 June 9, 2014 (edited) I have a pair of WP-25's on my 4' 90, I am upgrading to a 6' tank probably get wp-40's or the new rw-15's if your doing sps and BB you could probably go with the wp-60's for 6ft. I'm very happy with the WP's however with the 4 different modes I can only tell the difference between Wave 1 and constant, all the other modes seem to behave the exact same, also the light sensor is Junk, but for around $125 a pair you cant go wrong, they are super quiet and from what I hear very reliable (mine are only 3mo old), they are a lot cheaper than the MP's but do take up more room in your tank and the wires are on the inside of the tank unlike the MP's where all electrical is on the outside. ERC has a GB going on for Jebao RW's right now, they are $95ea for the RW-15's which are the equivalent of the WP-40's I believe here's the link to the GB http://wamas.org/forums/topic/66725-erc-jebao-rw-series-pump-group-buy/ Edited June 9, 2014 by Crob5965

Jason Rhoads June 10, 2014 June 10, 2014 I have actually had two of the WP 40's die on me in the last 3 months. The first lasted probably 6 months, and the second was only working for 2 months (maybe a bit less). I do have one that has been going strong for a year, and I will buy them again. I only post this to give you one experience where the longevity of the pump was, perhaps, not as good as a more expensive item.
