So, is it absolutely necessary to remove dead aiptasia after you kill them with Kalk paste, X, vinegar, lemon juice, et al?

I have some big mama jamas that I can't reach real well with my hands, but can totally stick a needle full of vinegar in.

If they are more out in the open, I try to pull the body, but in these cases, it will be pretty much impossible. I'm not concerned with "death" in the tank, just not having the dead body give off spores or whatever and having more pop up where that one was.

Just keep on killin and keep it up. You will get it under control. That method worked for me if not people on here have had luck with peppermint shrimps eating them up. The dead body spewing spores everywhere might be an old wife's tale. As I leave mine to rot after treatment and don't see problems. Just 1-2 a month will pop up in my tank. I have used Kalk paste, ap x, it all works the hard part is just getting to the tricky ones in a tight space. Sometimes a 2nd treatment is needed if it pops back up. Good luck KILL KILL KILL!

NIce, I had it bad when I 1st started up and ended up buying 30+ peps havent seen any in aiptasia in about 5 months I gave a bunch of my peps away and it seems that a lot of them have disappeared.

I ordered my peps from R2G they had a special Buy 1 Get 1 Free and the peps were only $3.99ea

Good luck

I always left them after using sip. X. Then my copperband got real.

I used aiptasia X on the big ones and got a few peppermints from blue ribbon koi for my nano. Those guys are awesome. They ate all the little ones in 2 weeks. I am almost aiptasia free now.

Going to get a dozen of these little buggers for the 120.

I used kalk to kill them and several months later they pops up again in the same area. Just killed them again a week ago. I may go out and buy some peppermint shrimp for the control.

The problem with peppermints are that they tend to disappear. I put 20-25 in less than 6 months ago and I haven't seen one in months. They also don't go near the big ones. Not saying for sure that they're not under the rocks playing poker or something, but I'm pretty sure they're dead.

Yeah, I used to have over 30 and I have maybe 5 now lol, but I dont have Aiptasia either. I gave 5 or 6 away to another member then the rest vanished or went down the overflow and are now living in my sump

big ones are easy to kill yourself, I did offer my peps a little help with the biggies, I think I used Aiptasia Solution, i'm sure all aiptasia removal products are about the same, it worked for me, I never thought i'd get rid of it all.

Good luck
