6 month update with pictures :)

Well, the tank is on its 6month running and without any major issues so far other then some spills with the skimmer contianer and major apex malfuncitons with their hardware which is currently in shipping to be replaced (waste of $500) in my opinion for the time it lasted before frying itself.

Hardware added to the tank:

- Apex auto feed (very loud, hard to adjust)

- apex breakout box

- float switches

- Additional 300w heater

- moved the entire rodi system to laundry room in basement. Everythign froze and broke with the last winter chill - hey but now i have a 9stage rodi system at 80psi pumping 200gallons every 6 hours.

- Added back my t-5 with the kessil led's to get the most light for my coral.

- 40 gallon qt tank

Fish Added:

- Djanise Sailfin (awesome, great fish little aggressive to smaller fish)

- Spotted Rabit Fish ( awesome cleaner fish, but poops more then anything possible)

- 3 Blue chromies (died randomly one night one by one, posible ick)

- White/blue goby cleaner fish (dead - huma huma took a bite out of him couple nights ago, sad)

- huma huma fish (snail killer, small fish biter, and spits sand all over my corals and tanks. Very bad fish - returning to lfs)

- paired large clownfish

Corals:

- Hyper orange plate coral (very cool, eats a lot!!!)

- Rainbow sherbet Meat Coral (awesome)

- torch coral

- green closed brain coral

- large rainbow bubbletip anemone

- baby orange and green bt

- red and green rock anemone

- Orange sunburt polyp frag

- nice colony of red lobos

thanks!! its been a lot of hardwork as im sure you know. The result has been very satisfying. Other then the local lfs selling me a week sick fish that almost killed my entire tank off. Just a Little disappointed in the fish selection /health at my local lfs since 4 of the 8 fish i got from them died from disease or stress so that was a waste of 250 bucks.

do you QT?

I am NOW since i realized how much i have to loose. have a 40 gallon qt tank just setup this week for all new fish/coral also for sick fish. Its easy to dump your fist couple fish and coral without the thought of QT.. over excited

Yes it is.  Just a suggestion - Put your new coral in a separate QT tank.  You won't be able to treat the fish with coral in it.

Mrsaltwatertank has the best QT guide I have read, and I highly recommend getting it.  https://www.mrsaltwatertank.com/quarantine/

I agree with the comment on the QT guide and multiple tanks.  It is well worth the small amount of money for the guide.  There isn't much info on coral quarantining in the guide, but from the research I have done, it seems that the best guess is a 2 month quarantine to be longer than the life cycles of most coral pests.
