did my crab "molt?"

Came home from a trip and found what looked like a dead crab in the bottom of my tank.  Looked like a shriveled up body, claws, everything.  After I counted noses I then found my crab, in his shell, just as fine as wine..

 

Did he molt? I was scared then wondering if I should be pleasantly surprised.  Thx in advance.

Same story with my Sally foot. I even took it out and examined it. The next day I saw her chilling on a rock. I dang near thought I lost my mind. The molt looked so identical to the actual crab

Me as well.  I fished it out, all sad, then there it was!

Sounds like a molt! I've got 2 skunks, one of them always seems to be molting, as there is always a skin floating about the tank.
