So I am in the process of moving from softies to SPS. Part of that process involved replumbing my tank. I shifted my return to my old closed loop and added a SCWD on the closed loop. I now have a Mag-12 return on a SCWD and a GEN-X MAK 4 on a closed loop with a SCWD and for good measure I bought a SEIO 1100 and did the "tunze style" mod to it. Lets just say I was blowing my fish around for a little while there. But, once everything settled down I am very happy with the outcome. I still have some work to do on where I want things pointed (I have to work around some of my softies and clams) but I am really liking the changes. I also chunked the "seed" colony of capnella that was fueling the infestation in my tank. I still have some work to go to get rid of all the smaller bits of capnella, but the big branch dropping colonies are gone (YAY!)

Have to say I like the SEIO pump and the mod was very very easy. Now I just have to figure out where its final placement will be.

 Yeah.....but they get used to it & eventually they seem to enjoy it. Sounds like the tank is well on it's way to being setup for "sticks".

If I continuously blast my anthelia, will it die?

Unfortunately.....no. You'll probably aid in spreading it.

On the SEIO, it is a great pump and will give you a lot of flow. However, it does have some problems with the restarting. if you lose power and it doesn't re-start try this:

1. Rinse impeller in vinegar.

2. Put pump back together but plug it in out of the tank to make sure the impeller is turning

3. SLOWLY lower it into the tank.

I don't know what the malfunction with these are but if you can get around it like this it is well worth it.

I was reading somewhere that it is a problem with the ceramic bearings that they are now using. For some reason they seem to be calcium deposit magnets. Just means you have to clean them more often than other pumps.

From what I've read the real problem comes when you don't clean them often. Tight tolerances can lead to the impellar fusing = permanent, no amount of soaking or vinegar will get it moving again. As I undertand it routine maintainance will prevent this from happening.
