Lol.

I have left over live sand from my nano setup. Not much maybe 5lbs. It was in a bucket with 2 gals of natures ocean live water. I smelled it. Smells like the ocean. So it's possibly still alive. It hasn't been cold out.

I just stuck a heater a power head and a air stone in there and covered it. Should I throw dry coral base rock in there maybe it'll seed it ? The bacteria had an ammonia source theirs a dead margarita snail in there. The one I bought from petco that died in the bag on my way home. I put it in there with hopes it was playing dead. Sigh. Anyway ya. Any thoughts? Or is this a waste of time?

Yep throw in some rock!

Great way to start.. And put it near the window for a light source too if you want, though not needed...

It's outside. It may or may not get sun not sure. How long would it take to seed the rocks?

(Ps I dosed the rocks in cold and boiling tap to kill the freshwater bacteria. Gonna let that sit then add a little prime to get the chlorine out of the pores before I toss them in. This is fun hehe

I dont think the snail dies on the way home they will can look lifeless (most snails that is) for a while.  Seen up to a few days lol.  I will say not the best snail for a salt water tank that we have because they like colder water.  They do not live long in our tropical type salt water tanks.

So it might be alive in there lol. I doubt it tho. No oxygen or water movement.

Joshifer you seem like a great guy! But your mug shot I mean profile shot kinda freaks me out lol Jk

Haha. Not a mug shot. Just really really cropped due to limitations. I am a nice guy. I try to be anyway ^_^

Haha yea I figured. Wish my tank made my kitchen smell like the ocean. Sure looks like it though! Good luck with that sand wish my tank had some

Would you like some ? I'm new to this i don't know much but if you think it's ok you can have some to mix in with your sand

I'm brand new too. I tried to put some in but my MP40 blew it to the back. Too much flow :( thanks for offer though

I actually like the sand dips and pits from a PH moving it. Looks more natural. It eventually stops blowing around lol and your welcome

I thought the same thing about the evil stare.

If you have an airstone and powerhead then you have O2 exchange and water movement. Since it doesn't smell bad I would bring it inside so the temp is more stable. You might not even need the heater then.
