Acan frag mount advice

So, how does one grow a tiny frag into those large rounded colonies?  Is that a large round rock that you mount them to?  Or does their skeleton just grow that way?  Where does one find such plugs?

I think they just grow that way; at least both of mine have. As to mounting, I used epoxy putty on the base of the colony and put them where I wanted on the reef, and it seems to have worked well.

What is the best position for Acans ?  Hi or low light ? Flow ?

I have two colonies, one is about 1/3 down in the tank (standard 75) and one about 2/3 down. I'd say flow is probably low to moderate. I don't know if these are "optimum" conditions, but they've both grown well - the one in the higher light probably a bit more.

Acans do best in low flow low light thats where you will get the "puffy" polyp extension

My Acans grow better in my 14g Biocube with PC lighting at the bottom, rather than my 72g with LED lighting at the bottom. Much better, actually. It's weird.

As far as growing, the skeleton itself grows, acans are slow growers but do grow faster when you feed them
