flooddc July 19, 2013 July 19, 2013 I bought a good sized portion of flame algae thinking of adding some color to my tank and refugium. The flame algae arrived yesterday and I divided it into 2 portions and tied each to the rocks. One placed into my 29 anemone tank and the other went in my 70 refuge. Well, today I discovered that my fish ate them all :( bummer! I guessed they really like it.
monkiboy July 19, 2013 July 19, 2013 nice - where did you get it from? reefcleaners always has good deals and is generous in portions. thinking of growing it out this time? in my experience you let it establish its holdfasts and get comfortable and with a nice 660nm LED light that stuff will grow nicely and develop really nice orange tips if you get your photo-period right right along with the chaeto. post up some pics next time!

Got it on RC members. Reefcleaners offered tiny 3" piece! Looks like my fish made a good snack out of it, I don't think i can afford to feed them that again. Will need a fish less tank to grow them.
Hilary July 19, 2013 July 19, 2013 When I had the stuff growing out of control I couldn't get my fish to eat it. Figures.

I manage to rescue a small tiny branch before the fish chow them down. I threw it into my anemone fuge to see if it survive. The only reason I got it was for the display, so grow it in the fuge beat the purpose!
