Had several extra joists put across living room for this purpose. Will have a 150 gal sump fuge in the basement. Am in Boyds Maryland. Any suggestions helpfull. Need to buy a pump will need 600 gph at the output at one story. What do i use for input into the sump.
jamal March 21, 2013 March 21, 2013 how many feet from sump to DT head loss calculator on reefcentral.com to give you an idea of the kind of pump you will need to get the water where you need it
Coral Hind March 21, 2013 March 21, 2013 Internal or external? If external I would check out the Reeflo Blow Hole, BH1450 or Panworld 200PS. I would also look into the new DC pumps. If internal you would need a Mag 36 but going external is probably a better choice.
wade March 21, 2013 March 21, 2013 http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2007/5/aafeature2 Has a link to a downloadable calculator. This is the one on reefcentral (it is a bit more simplistic, but works fairly well): http://www.reefcentral.com/calc/hlc2.php It looks like you'd have to push around 30' of total head pressure if you used 1.25" pipe or 20' if you used 1.5".
